(LifeSiteNews) — Facing growing skepticism from his voter base for promoting experimental COVID-19 vaccines developed through his much-touted “Operation Warp Speed,” former President Donald Trump spoke out against totalitarian vaccine mandates, saying Americans shouldn’t be “forced” to get the shots and that those who have natural immunity “don’t need the vaccine.”
“People have to have their freedoms,” Trump told FOX News host Sean Hannity during an interview Thursday night. “Why are they forcing people to take the vaccine?”
Characteristically referring to COVID-19 as “the Wuhan virus” and “the China virus,” quipping “we’ve got plenty of names,” Trump explained that anyone who has already overcome the virus does not need to take a vaccine and should not be forced to do so.
“When you have [COVID], you don’t need the vaccine. You become immune,” the former president said, adding that people who have recovered from the virus develop “a natural immunity.”
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who many see as a likely Republican contender for the presidency in 2024, has similarly promoted natural immunity, remarking during a Gainesville, Florida stop last month, “The ones that have recovered have very strong immunity. That’s very clear from every study that’s been done...”

It’s great that we have Trump saying the phrase “you don’t need the vaccine”. I know you have to put it in its proper context, but the phrase alone is hugely powerful, and will embolden millions of people worried about their companies vaccine mandates to take a stand...

And, yet, my son who had delta Covid variant is being required to take the vaccine to keep his job! In Florida. He’s asking for an exemption due to having the virus last April/May! He nearly died from it! Praying that it comes through in his favor. He has a great primary doctor who works at his employer. If she will give him the exemption due to immunity with high enough levels to show he is neither at risk, nor can he pass anything to anyone else, maybe they’ll accept that! Praying! Please join me!
This is what I am currently doing, it's what I agreed to... but you know what, even this is unfair and discriminatory, now that everyone knows full well that the vaccinated are just as likely to get the virus and transmit the virus to others. If companies really wanted to be "safe" (how I hate that word now), they would be testing *everyone*.
My wife is vaccinated, and I am not.
Guess which one of us got sick.
Truth, before I had heard about WuFlu, I was icky-sick for about six days in January 2020. Not severe, but it Just Would Not Go Away (I usually slaughter the sniffles in three days or less). I think it might have been WuFlu.
Since then, and throughout this adventure, I have been as defiant as practicable of the Noo Roolz, living as much as possible in what CNN calls “the Before Times”.
And I haven’t been sick.
My stance remains the same:
If you need a mask, wear one.
If you need a shot, get one.
If you need a series of shots, you might start to question why.
And leave me out of it.
This is wonderful for Trump to do, especially since it get the left in a snit.

Trump has NEVER been for mandates. His position hasn’t changed.
Ongoing, testing should not be mandatory for people who have chosen not to be vaccinated. When would it end? Just as Florida is doing, COVID-19 vaccinations and masks should be VOLUNTARY based upon individual choices.

God the headlines are so jaw droppingly wierd. Smacks down would only apply if Trump as President did not allow them to be implemented. That would be smacks down. As it is he does not have smacking down power so the mandates continue unsmacked. A better phrasing is called for. If the headline read “makes a really good argument against” it would be closer to the truth.
Vaccines have failed.
Israel is on its 4th jab, and there are no more unvaxxed left to blame.
Everytime it rains, they have to buy a new roof. It’s not a vaccine, it’s a Nigerian Chain Letter.

If they are going to test, then they should test everyone, because people who have had the shot can get and transmit the virus to others, too. To do otherwise is
discriminatory and a way of punishing the unvaccinated.
The funny part is the vaccinated would complain about being tested along with the unvaccinated. They like to claim they don’t need to be tested because they are vaccinated, but they still see fit to wear masks and force the vaccines on others.
Cases are down, deaths are down...we do NOT need any mandates of any kind. Period.

I have family member that is now testing 2X week—has 2 jobs* and they require different tests...
Agree 100% with you about testing requirements for only the unvaxxed. In fact, one co-worker told family member the tests were to “make people get the shots.”
*At least until January when will be fired for no vax :(

You would think everyone on the planet has been exposed to covid at least once and either got it or didn’t because they had immunity in some way.
My wife’s been working at a nursing home the whole time, couple of residents got it, 4-5 co-workers got it. You’d think my wife would have gotten it and brought it home.
She used to bring home every single cold and flu and we were sick a lot for 5 years and then it just stopped and we haven’t had a cold or flu since 5 years ago. Maybe our immunity to colds and flu gives us immunity to covid. Maybe we had the original SARS 17 years ago. I haven’t worn a mask this whole time either but we just can’t seem to catch covid.
Trump is right, but unfortunately his comments will be glommed onto by the anti-mask, anti-vax clown show that is most likely working for the Democrats, since they are the Democrats only hope to ram through defunding the police, legalized drugs, and CRT (to offer a new revenue stream to the trial lawyers).
