The Bush camp clearly despises Donald Trump. In his remarks at Shanksville, Pennsylvania on the 20th anniversary of 9/11, George W. Bush took thinly-veiled shots at Trump, alluding to him and his supporters as a "malign force."
But there was nothing veiled about the shots that former George W. Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson, now a Washington Post columnist, took at Trump today. CNN's New Day gave Gerson a platform to expand on his recent column, unsubtly entitled, "The Trump nightmare looms again."
Gerson ultimately made his pitch: in 2022, Republicans should vote Democrat.

How many Republicans will take this dweeb’s advice and vote Democrat in 2022?
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
If 2020 not fixed, I won’t even vote republican.
And, I’m a registered republican. Currently.
I believe all these bush acolytes say nothing that isn’t W approved. W is telling republicans to vote for democrats. If not than he should denounce this. But he never does and won’t this time either.
This is the Bush brand of republicans: making sure democrats get what they want for over 30 years. Thanks so-called two party system.
And I’m sure all the Republican viewers of CNN - all five of them, will take his advice seriously.
“about the shots that former George W. Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson, now a Washington Post columnist, took at Trump today.”
Yeh, we all breathlessly await attacks on Trump from 50 IQ neanderthal Bush supporters. /s/
Whoopeee!
Been saying for a long time that Bush League Republicans are just Assistant Democrats wearing R jerseys for camouflage.
Now they are taking the camouflage off.
The entire purpose of the GOP since 1989 has been to block the citizens from stopping the importation of a permanent Democrat majority.
Until Trump broke through the Bush blockade, we were only allowed to vote for open borders/amnesty candidates.
If any republican is serious about getting republican voters to vote democrat, why is it that they don’t take their argument to a conservative or republican leaning media platform? That’s where more republicans can be reached. Going to CNN is like looking for air on the moon.
Trump nightmare:
Unemployment rates at historical lows for all groups
Gas at $1.90/gal
Inflation at 1%
Southern border sealed
Taliban fighting with slingshots, not American helicopters
Why???
Don’t blame me, I voted for Keyes in the 2000 primary.
Just more Bush Crime Family shenanigans.
I will not vote for any Republican that ties their wagon the that inbred, grifter clan.
These people really do not see it coming, do they?
Don’t they realize that the difference between the current situation and Communist Democrat-run “Work Makes You Free” camps could be merely a matter of years???
As FerFal put it, commies move fast.
F these Bush-league Republicans.
PING!
Gas is now $3.26 in my town. A couple weeks ago (at most), it was around $3.10.
Yes, really – – doesn’t matter; no one watches CNN anyway.
Vote for the party of the Devil?
No thanks.
So if the 2020 election isn’t overturned, you won’t vote?
None AFAIK.
Gerson is as bad as Steve Schmidt and Rick whats-his-face.
