On October 2, the Talladega Superspeedway was the host of a Sparks 300 race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Brandon Brown was the winner, and sportscaster Kelli Stavast believed the crowd were chanting for him during the race.
They were shouting, 'Let's go Brandon!' - or so she thought.
It turned out the fans had a very different intention and were actually shouting out against President Joe Biden.
The chant, believed to have been led by Trump supporters, was actually "F*** Joe Biden," and has since been heard at several other sporting events.
While the chant itself is not new, the idea of the song being in support of Brandon has seemed to capture the imaginations of meme-makers.
Even Trump's son Donald Trump Jr. got involved with his own tweet, which took place at a protest outside the New York Department of Education.
The meme began when, as Brown was being interviewed on NBC by Stavast, she misheard the chant, thinking it was for Brown after his win.
Brown said: "Oh my God, this is just everything we've hoped and dreamed for. Everything I've ever wanted to do is take the trophy home to mom and dad.
Stavast replied: "Brandon, you also told me... you can hear the chants from the crowd, 'Let's Go Brandon.'..."
She paused to let the chant ring out as she continued asking another question, but it became clear this was not the chant at all.
The NASCAR driver gamely continued the interview, not focusing on the protestors.

She knew what they were saying, and while I know she’s seriously dishonest, I have to give her credit for some quick thinking to come up with a fast save, lame as it may have been.

Not many people don’t realize what that really means now. T-shirts, bumper stickers coffee cups, a plane flyng it over a Trump rally, it grew wings even faster than hillary’s “deplorables” comment. The next day I saw t-shirts on sale.

Saw a video on you tube of Iowa/Penn State game. It was being chanted there too.
Many religious services are conducted with kids crying etc....but the Pastor, Rabbi et al doesn't acknowledge the kid. They simply Do. Their. Job.
I don't know if Ms Savast was just following orders, is a leftist trying to cover for Big Brother, or needs a hearing aid.
But I do know, she's not a professional.

If there were any doubt that this is their answer, that she misheard it, rather then knew full well what was being chanted and tried to cover for Biden as a form of political advocacy, well, that is it.

A lot of the memes from the 2016 election were truly organic, but the propganda media needed to spin it as Russians. Of course, they got their orders from the DNC who was in the process of manufacturing “russia collusion” against a presidential candidate and subsequently an actual president.
The memo went out in 2020 that you can’t call large groups of American’s who you can physically count and speak with as Russians, so they are ‘domestic terrorists’. They got this idea when thousands of leftists decided to feign civil rights protests and burn down cities, and they realized how powerful it would be to use “domestic terrorism” NOT as an actionable law enforcement campaign against those who had and will pose a real threat to civil order, but instead as a counter intelligence/counter terrorism tool against people they disagree with.
I agree with you though, that newsweek is slipping, if they didn’t call the people chanted terrorists.
And the real beauty of “Let’s go Brandon!!” is that it’s G-rated. I hope to hear a lot of it during the World Series. People that might be reluctant to chant the F-bomb can join in, and there’s no need for the network to edit it.

The idea that she misheard them is absurd and we all know it. She was there. She could more clearly hear what they were saying then we could over the mics. It was a clumsy attempt to lie about what was actually being said. It was overt, not accidental. And that’s why this meme is so precious.
Now we can just say let’s go brandon!. And everyone knows what we mean. 👌

America just can’t stand him.
