....a paraplegic man in Ohio was pulled from his car and thrown to the ground by police.
The Ohio incident unfolded last week in Dayton, when Clifford Owensby was pulled over in a traffic stop by two officers...
“The officers followed the law, their training, and department policies and procedures. Sometimes the arrest of non-compliant individuals is not pretty, but is a necessary part of law enforcement to maintain public safety, which is one of the fundamental ideologies of our society,” Dayton Fraternal Order of Police President Jerome A. Dix said in a statement to NBC.
But Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley said in a statement Friday, “The video of this police interaction is very concerning to me. No matter where you live or what you look like, everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect when dealing with Dayton Police.”

You should have to live in an area where drugs are legal like Seattle and witness the thuggery that kind of policy generates Ms. Mayor. You ain’t seen nothing yet!
Murder rates thru the roof, property crime goes unpunished, what’s not to like, Ms. Mayor. You need to get your mind right before it’s too late for your community, Ms. Mayor you giant fool.
I never viwed Dayton as a place where one would go to find "dignity and respect".. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and lots of narcotics, that's about it.....
thwow him to the fwoow...
in before the monty python life of brian references
The attorneys will be lining up for this one.
Definite civil rights violations....
They pulled him over for a traffic violation. Based on the video, they had no reason to suspect he was carrying. As to the dog ‘hitting’ on drugs, they can easily be trained to demonstrate a ‘hit’ when one doesn’t exist.
Sorry, not a good stop by the cops.
> The officer told Owensby he needed to be out of the vehicle so a dog could smell for drugs, but the motorist objected, the video shows. <
The article is not clear. But Owensby was evidently pulled over for a traffic violation, and not for suspicion of a drug crime. Give the guy a ticket, then send him on his way.
(And yes, I know the guy was being uncooperative. And the police have the right to ask you to step out of your car. But why the drug dog?)
She endorsed Bootygieg for the presidency.
Yeah. It don’t look good for the cops. Obviously the man’s legs are atrophied. I have to side with the driver. Sorry folks. I’m on the side of law and order but sometimes you have to be honest about injustice.
Why the drug dog? Because the War on (some) Drugs isn’t about drugs, it’s about war on citizens and on civil and Constitutional rights. It worked perfectly here.
Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see any handicapped sign or license plate, or hand controls to drive the car. Are they being loose with the word paraplegic?
Dayton mayor Nan Whaley is wanted Obama to send the Somali “refugees” here because she thought Obama would pay Dayton to take them. Should that have happened, we might have been Ilhan Omars Minneapolis. Dodged that bullet, so to speak.
The blacks new action plan. Resist the police and then sue.

Yep. And here’s another routine:
Officer: Do you mind if I search your car?
Young guy (of any race): I do not give permission for that.
Officer: I smell the odor of marijuana. Step out.
Sometimes there really is an odor of marijuana. But sometimes it’s just another card for the cop to play, to violate someone’s civil rights.
I read somewhere that Dayton had lots of housing you could get just by paying the back taxes... (?)
Dayton...Greene County. I’m an old lady now, but I remember when Greene County was the place for the mob to dump their bodies.
“Ima parapAlegic bro!”
This looks like several million worth of settlement to me. Unless of course the city chooses to fight it, in which case it will be tens of millions worth of award.
Hand controls are clearly visible in the video starting just after the 2 minute mark.
