Southwest Airlines canceled hundreds more flights Monday following a weekend of major service disruptions.
According to Flightaware, the carrier has cancelled 348 flights Monday and delayed another 271 flights.
The Dallas-based airline had blamed air traffic control issues and weather for its weekend “operational challenges” that saw over 1,000 cancelled flights on Sunday alone. Southwest Airlines was the only airline to report the issues on that scale.
Southwest has struggled all summer with high numbers of delayed and canceled flights. In August it announced it was trimming its September schedule by 27 flights a day, or less than 1%, and 162 flights a day, or 4.5% of the schedule, from early October through Nov. 5.

Crypto-fascist corporations. Will make all kinds of flimsy excuses for their actions but never acknowledge the 800-lb elephant that’s standing right in the room with them.
Maybe they should fire some more pilots and stewardesses.
The MSM sure does not want the world to know about the vaccine walkouts. But South West is suing over the mandates.
NO Airmets, Sigmets or Weather Advisories for at least 500 Miles from Florida
I guess I won’t be flying today - Me since 1993
That’s what I say. The movement is catching. What happened in France could happen here. I think the crack is in the wall
Wow, whatever sickness the pilots have must be really bad. /s
There are so many unanswered questions and missing critical details on this matter: Where are the majority of the cancellations? If it was FAA related labor issues it would have been any or every airline. If it was local, there is inclement weather reported in areas where outages impacted flights such as Northern Florida. If it’s the COVID vaccine mandate, there are several other airlines with the exact same compliance deadline of Dec 8th that have not had similar issues reported yet, and those unions are pretty well coordinated across the industry.

They shouldn’t have served bat soup in the cafeteria.

Looks like we’re in for a stretch of “bad weather”
There is a rumor that American Airlines is next. A rolling sickout?
Southwest pilots are the best and the brightest. Everyone knows that. It’s why they choose to fly for south west. The airline with the best operating model. Different from all the others
Is it just me or has everything gone to sh*t since Biden moved in to the WH.
So every week now a Fortune 50 has some sort of major service disruption or outrage. Sounds like a 3rd world country.
It’s not just you.
Biden and his communist puppetmasters have been, and continue to be, an unmitigated disaster.
“Is it just me or has everything gone to sh*t since Biden moved in to the WH.”
That’s crossed my mind too.
Yes, I did see that. There are also JetBlue and I believe United who have the same deadline. If the vaccine is the driving factor here, we can expect those airlines to announce similar problems shortly. Uhng…
I just hope it’s truly a local issue. We fly often and if this instability spreads, it’s going to harm a lot of Americans and supporting industries. Plus who wants to travel for leisure if there’s a good chance one will get stranded?
