The teenage gunman who opened fire in an Arlington, Texas, school on Wednesday has been released on bond, a day after pulling a gun from his backpack and shooting a 'bully', a teacher and one other girl.
Timothy George Simpkins was being held on a $75,000 bond on three charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon but the 18-year-old walked out of Tarrant County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
Simpkins said nothing as he strode out of the jail in a blue t-shirt, matching baseball cap worn backwards, and jeans.
It's unclear why he has been charged with aggravated assault and not attempted murder or more serious charges, or why the judge granted him bail.
A video of their fight was posted on social media by Simpkins' cousin on Wednesday night in an effort to prove that he was being bullied.
It shows Simpkins - who was identified by police as wearing a light colored hoodie in the footage - being pummeled by the other boy, who is three years his junior, while holding his hands around his head.
Once the fight was over, he went to his orange backpack, pulled out of his gun and started shooting.
He shot the other boy 'seven to eight times', according to one student who was interviewed by police, and also shot 25-year-old Calvin Pettitt, a teacher who had tried to break up the fight. Pettitt was shot in the back.
Both he and the 15-year-old boy remain in the hospital. Pettitt is expected to survive and is in a good condition but the 15-year-old boy is in critical condition.
A third victim - a teenage girl - suffered a graze wound but is no longer in the hospital.

I wonder if the teacher is a relation of ex NY Yankee pitcher Andy Pettitt who was/is also from Texas.
I am not picking any sides here, but there has got to be more to this story.
There is a video on youtube of a bus driver talking to a kid, apparently not giving little millennial snot-nose what he wants, so the kid starts slapping the bus driver.
The bus drive gets up and beats the snot out of the kid, drags him off the bus, and lands one more great shot across the little snot noses face.
Its a thing of beauty to watch.

Looking at the video, the kid shot multiple times looked like he deserved it. I realize it is may not be the whole story, but it is really damaging to the guy shot.
Not sure why it took so long for an adult to intercede in the assault. It was one sided too long for it to be considered a fight. The younger kid was a lot larger than the 5’9”, 135 shooter.

May I respectfully state another opinion? He will not face street justice.
If our justice system results in his being ruled not guilty by reason of American racial prejudice against him causing him to lash out in fury with temporary insanity, then he can get off and have a long happy life of his choosing. The jury of his peers may look like the casting call for a remake of "Roots." Judge owes his status to Soros funding. Not guilty.

I dont want to hear anymore how blacks are not treated fairly by the justice system..if he were white he would STILL be in jail. There is 1 kid in critical condition yet they release him on bond..yeah this is about his race and the fact that he’s apparently pretty darn rich..his parents are claiming he was teased for driving a fancy car to school, so I guess that justifies shooting people
In the mean time, the DOJ sends the FBI to school meetings and considers labeling the parents domestic terrorists. In the mean time, we have hundreds of political prisoners who didn’t shoot anyone in solitary confinement for months.
