WARREN, Mich. (AP) — General Motors plans to cash in as the world switches from combustion engines to battery power, promising to double its annual revenue by 2030 with an array of new electric vehicles, profitable gas-powered cars and trucks, and services such as an electronic driving system that can handle most tasks on the road.
In announcements Wednesday ahead of a two-day investor event in suburban Detroit, the company also pledged to unseat Tesla and become the electric vehicle market share leader in U.S., although no time frame was given.
The company also teased upcoming new electric vehicles including a Chevrolet small SUV that will cost around $30,000, as well as electric trucks from Chevrolet and GMC, crossover SUVs from Buick, and luxury vehicles from Cadillac. An electric Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that can go 400 miles per charge will be unveiled at the CES gadget show in January. A GMC electric pickup will follow.
Electric vehicles will draw new buyers to GM vehicles, according to Reuss. He also said the company is going to create a dedicated factory to build electric trucks, from an existing facility.
The Detroit automaker plans to have more than half of its North American and China factories be capable of making electric vehicles by 2030.
At the same time it’s rolling out new EVs, GM will improve its combustion engine products, including making them more efficient with less pollution, Reuss said.
It also pledged to increase its investment in EV charging networks by nearly $750 million through 2025.

In 1975, I worked as a field service engineer in a major expansion of a paper mill power plant in Longview, Washington. At the end of construction, you just could not get the electricians off the project. They proudly called themselves the “FLEs” which stood for “Fat Lazy Electrician.”
They already used the brand name Saturn. I would expect the next GM experiment to be called Uranus. Can’t wait for the marketing program on that one.

GM will bribe federal, state, and local governments into buying their vehicles.
_That_ is how they plan to double their revenue.
Maybe they can pay the pension money back that they and obama stole.
What kind of car is it? Makes no sense the headlights are on while charging.

It's a BMW SUV and he charges it at nite that's why I noticed the headlights on and it's plugged in with headlights on around 8pm and at 5am it's still charging, but is full charged sometime between 5 and 6am. Do BMW's have some kind of detector so that when it gets dark the lights automatically come on and shut off at first light?
