AIPAC Compares Rand Paul to 'The Squad,' Slams Him Over Iron Dome Vote

WASHINGTON – Pro-Israel activists across the political spectrum have harshly criticized Republican Sen. Rand Paul for his moves delaying the delivery of $1 billion in emergency funding for Israel’s Iron Dome antimissile system.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, perhaps the most powerful pro-Israel organization, linked Paul to progressive House members – and frequent AIPAC targets – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, three of the four members of the so-called Squad.

AIPAC also lambasted a second Kentucky Republican, Rep. Thomas Massie, for not backing the emergency aid.

Christians United for Israel, an evangelical group, also sharply criticized Paul for treating the aid like a “political game.”

“Whatever concerns he has on other issues should be addressed in a manner that does not put innocent lives at risk,” said the founder and chairman of Christians United for Israel, Pastor John Hagee.

“The legislation he is blocking advanced through the House of Representatives with overwhelming bipartisan support. Senator Paul needs to stop playing games with the safety of the Israeli people.”

By the way, God’s Chosen People are those who follow Him.

Israel has a population that’s comparable to that of New Jersey, a GDP of $400+ billion, and has constructed itself as a European-style welfare state. They can fund their own defense initiatives, as far as any right-thinking American should be concerned.

Ungrateful.

Don't know too many Jews, do you? ;)

It's a cultural thing.

I'm not feeling particularly grateful to Israel, right about now, so I hope Paul sticks to his guns. As I understand it, he doesn't want the U.S. supporting the Taliban while we do this, as well, and I think he's right.

We are broke , we don’t need to be giving money to any country . I could see MAYBE if a country had an earthquake we help them out and send them some money
Otherwise ? These places can take care of themselves

The one thing that is starting to anger me is why Americans cannot focus and invest more at home and fix our own problems lest get involved somwhere or give more money to a nation that does not need it or hates us.

Gods chosen people are the Jews. Christians are adopted so to speak.

Let me guess. Those who oppose this are anti-Semitic and Holocaust deniers, right?

Sorry, that dog isn't going to hunt anymore. Israel can take care of itself. I'm tired of the USA being led around the nose by Israel.

I support Israel as much or more than most but surely Israel can pay for weapons to protect itself. The American taxpayer can help within the confines of normal foreign aid or emergency military equipment deployment but not perpetually.

Read Rands objections, it’s not a cut and dried simple rejection of helping fund Iron Dome; the bill had other monies tied to it also.

I am pro Israel but could someone explain to me why we’re paying for Iron Dome?

I’m guessing because they’ve been COVID ravaged and need the dough.

Israel’s biggest enemy right now is Israel and its love affair with the vax.

Could be.

I'd rather give it to them, than the illegals crossing the border.
