Kerry on Biden: He ‘Literally Had Not Been Aware of What Had Transpired’ on Submarine Deal
National Review ^ | October 5, 2021 | Jim Geraghty

Former Vice President Joe Biden (right) and former Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry carry pizza boxes after an event on Biden’s “No Malarkey!” campaign bus tour in Decorah, Iowa, December 6, 2019. (Shannon Stapleton/Reuters)

In an interview with French television, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry helpfully explains that President Biden simply had no idea that the U.S.-U.K.-Australia deal on submarines would irk the French government, and “had not been aware of what had transpired.”

Interviewer, surprised: You told Joe Biden that it was not the right-

Kerry: He asked me. He said, ‘what’s the situation?’ and I explained exactly, uh… He was he had not been aware of that, he literally, literally had not been aware of what had transpired. And I don’t want to go into the details of it, but suffice it to say, that that the president… My president is very committed to, um, strengthening the relationship and making sure that this is a small event of the past and moving on to the much more important future.

Golly, who could have possibly predicted that John Kerry would go rogue, act like he’s the smartest guy in the room, and tell an anecdote where the president comes across as a clueless, oblivious novice?

Remember, questioning the 78-year-old president’s ability to remember what he’s been told in briefings, or handle the pressures of the job, is absolutely unacceptable, or at least that is what I keep getting told.

So what is Kerry’s involvement in this matter? It is not in his portfolio as Climate Czar.

I suspect if you walked around the State Department, fewer than 20 of what was transpiring.

That’s a great photo! It really shows how manly and virile Joe is, because he’s carrying more pizza boxes than Kerry. Ol’ Joe is on top of his game!!

Handlers and some mysterious Number One behind the scenes argue over policies and statements and then hand the result to Biden who must be surprised to hear of most of it.

Imagine FDR,Truman, Eisenhower, JFK or Trump being shocked to find out what they are about to read from a printed speech handed to them during the day. While eating a waffle cone.

Presumably he’s in the decision making loop. Or lying.

Sorry NR, you are toast to me.

Welcome to the club. I finally got rid of my stacks of old copies of NR.

As an ex-NR regular, VDH is in good company. It would be fun to see VDH and Mark Steyn engage in some highly articulate NR bashing.

"...a hack publication of the republican establishment and a consistent Trump-bashing rag."

I had subscribed to NR for about 18 years - let it lapse shortly after they gave Mark Steyn the boot.

I've replaced it with The Epoch Times - good writing, wide range of topics, (true) conservative values. You might like it if you're looking for some replacement light reading.

Did National Review actually endorse Biden over Trump? I canceled my subscription when they fired Derbyshire, and donated the proceeds to Derbyshire, so I haven’t been following too closely. Are they really that out of it?

"Did National Review actually endorse Biden over Trump?"

No, they didn't endorse anyone - but like in 2016, a non-endorsement plus weekly trashings = Hillary and Biden endorsement.

Throwing Derbyshire under the bus pissed me off, as did allowing pro-abortion Frump the coveted final essay slot.

Kicking Mark Steyn to the curb was the final straw for me.

For a smart dude, Rich Lowry makes a ton of foolish choices.

Yes, these are the only two possibilities. Neither is a good option for our country.

NR did an entire issue in 2016 bashing Trump:

//www.nationalreview.com/magazine/2016/02/15/conservatives-against-trump/>

This is the result of Rich Lowry being the editor...he is just another GOP party establishment hack...he would rather support a loser, like Romney, or McCain, than promote anything Donald Trump stands for, or accomplished during the Trump administration.

I'm not sure who I despise more, RINO republicans or commie democrats...they are equally repugnant.
