Construction workers in Detroit discovered what appear to be human remains while digging up a sidewalk on October 1.
The crew found the human remains under a sidewalk at approximately 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fort Street and Cass Avenue, according to ABC 7. The Detroit Police Department was called to the scene, and a homicide team determined that the bones appear to be human, ABC 7 reports.

My first thought too. I guess Jimmys been found
Wow, they have human remains digging an intersection in Detroit? The living workers were just standing around and letting them do their job?
A few years ago they were dredging the Rouge River in Detroit and pulled up a block of concrete with two legs sticking out.
This happens from time to time in Chicago. Construction crews will find an old mass grave from one of the cholera epidemics.

The remains of an Arkancide?
Probably.
Wonder if there’s any DNA left?

Somebody was thinking ahead. City worker with foreknowledge of future street/sidewalk construction?
On a related note, during street construction along my street, I once took a can of spray paint and, after hours, painted my own lines on the driveway access from the street to make it wider.
I came out the next morning as the City was beginning to destroy the old curbing and I thought I was all set. Suddenly the job foreman appeared, noticed my lines and said: “What is this?! This ain’t right!”
Alas, my plan was scuttled. I was mere minutes away from having that widened driveway access built for free.
For some reason this thread reminded me of the old British television serial, ‘Quartermass’...
When was the sidewalk laid?? Check for unsolved murders on before that date for starters.
A few years after I 25 was a brand new thing in Denver, one of the piers on an overpass was showing signs of deterioration. When crews went to make repairs, a high quality blue serge suit was discovered with a skeleton inside. Cops thought is was some mobster but I don’t recall as it was ever identified. Where there is concrete, there is a chance.
It’s never to late for this person to vote.
City records should show when the sidewalk was poured. Hoffa or not, an organized crew could hide a body for a good long time if they had the cooperation of whoever poured the sidewalks
Kojak - Justice Deferred.
Good episode.
Wow! That’s going back a few years. Used to travel it everyday going to Gates Rubber Co. Think we used to call it Valley Highway.

The one with the alien grasshoppers was the best, IMHO.
May I respectfully beg your pardon, sir? I was born in Detroit (stayed long enough for my parents to drive me in a Hudson to a house in the safe and clean suburbs beyond the hospital).
That dead man has been voting Dem all these years. Not a new voter.
Can’t tell but overall, it’s perfectlypossible this is a historic burial. As in, very old. Possibly even Indian.
He probably votes in Chicago, too. Busy guy!
