Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) on Thursday confirmed to reporters his topline number for the $3.5 trillion reconciliation package is $1.5 trillion.

During the media powwow, Manchin said the far-left “should elect more liberals” if they want a more radical package with a price larger than $1.5 trillion.

$1.5T is still a massive number. It’s time to stop spending like there’s no tomorrow, even if there is no tomorrow. Once the 2 million new illegal immigrants, and that’s just in the last 8 months, get on welfare and other benefits the budgets going to explode anyway.

Manchin laid out in clear economic terms why the DC Dems plan is “Fiscal insanity”. As hard as he has dug his heels in rhetorically, I do not see how he can walk this back now.
