Back in August, Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller called for accountability for military leadership on the disastrous and catastrophic exit from Afghanistan. He did so knowing he was risking his career and would likely face punishment for doing so.
"The reason people are so upset on social media right now is not because the Marine on the battlefield let someone down," Scheller said. "People are upset because their senior leaders let them down and none of them are raising their hands and accepting accountability or saying, 'We messed this up.'"

But you just can't keep doing that without additional consequences. I imagine he wouldn't have taken too kindly to a Sergeant in his command making similarly public comments about him, nor should he.
Didn't say it did, but if they hadn't indulged all the other officers pulling sh*t like this, it would have been less likely that people would do it subsequently.
Same thing with the Stop the Steal rally. The Federal authorities allowed Antifa to burn buildings, assault people, and engage in riots, so this encouraged the belief that this behavior will be tolerated from others.
The breakdown in order preceded the Lt. Col.
Hmmmm.... It happens pretty much any time Democrats are in charge.
What are you idiots talking about?
Nothing done merits prison.
It is gulag stuff.
I know your constitutional rights don’t apply in the military, but this is pure political persecution, ordered and approved by the “moderate” joe biden.
Technically, it's jail, not prison. But what do you think should be done about an active-duty Lt. Col. who repeatedly violates direct orders not to engage in political activity in uniform, and not to undermine his superiors publicly?
The only reason he is in jail is because he is literally refusing to obey orders. Publicly.
He's made it easy on them.
Ok the USA collects political prisoners. Secession anyone?
I honestly can't recall any other Marine officers on active duty repeatedly and publicly disagreeing with their superiors, without consequence. Exactly who are you thinking of?

Completely agree there. That's why I tell lefties that though I thought January 6 was dumb, it doesn't really bother me. They tossed out the rulebook long before then.
Kick him out?
Again, this is totalitarian stuff to jail him.
The only thing on Bruce’s Chin is the insemination residue of the Deep State.
Yeah, as a former Marine officer myself (and also a USNA grad), he didn’t give his chain of command much choice. If you want to speak out has he has, publicly and repeatedly, then you resign first.
His entire chain of command belongs in the brig along with Vindman and his.
Yup. The gag order was lawful and he apparently broke it while wearing his uniform. I agree completely with his stance on the miserable failures of military leadership and I hope he does well after his discharge, but ya gotta be ready to face the consequences of violation of an order.

The maxim is that you disobey an order at your peril. You can try to prove at your court martial that the order was unlawful, but it’s an affirmative defense and the burden is on the “accursed” to prove it.

You can't do that instantly. He's in the process of getting out, and just needed to shut his yapper until he was processed out. Once out, he would and could be as critical as he likes.
Your no doubt honorable service is clouding your judgement. This fine Marine is receiving orders from an utterly corrupt institution. That he is targeted for speaking the truth while the likes of Vindman (who committed crimes against a sitting POTUS) are not shows that something is rotten in Denmark. You should be questioning the conduct of the institution and not the whistleblower Marine.
He knew the rules as well as the rest of us do, and why they are necessary.
He knew the rules as well as the rest of us do, and why they are necessary.
The rules? You mean like “the interagency sets foreign policy” rule from when Trump was POTUS?
Buy a clue. The only rule that matters is what team you play for: Team China or Team USA. This good Marine is playing for Team USA and Team China will not stand for that.
We are quickly approaching the time where the military will not be much different from the civilian world. The sense of honor and duty are becoming foreign concepts to many people. The kind of people that we want in our military are getting out just soon as they can. I am a member of a legacy family. My son will probably be the last to serve. We are in deep trouble.
The three Marines that arrested him should be canned and the entire chain of command involved shot.
Lt. Col. Scheller knew the consequences of what he did. I doubt he'd want Marines killed over it.
