SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California is banning state-funded travel to Ohio over the state’s new law allowing doctors to decline medical services to people on moral or religious grounds.
The Ohio measure triggered a 2016 California law that requires the attorney general to prohibit state-funded travel to states that discriminate against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, according to a Friday news release from California Attorney General Rob Bonta.
The ban takes effect Sept. 30, according to the release. Ohio will become the 18th state to which California won’t pay for travel, according to the release...
...Ohio’s law provides that, “when possible and when the medical practitioner is willing, the medical practitioner shall seek to transfer the patient to a colleague who will provide the requested health care service.”
It also designates that emergency treatment doesn’t qualify for the objections.

I suspect most people, except those on the suckeye campus in columbus, are saying thank you Kalifornia for keeping your socialists from coming to ohio.
But I thought that California didn’t want fruits from another state.
WIZARD! HALLELUJAH! As an Ohio resident I am DELIGHTED!
LOL!! Ohians are breathing a SIGH of RELIF!
Well, I banned myself from ever going to California again around 15 years ago. and I bet millions of others have done the same since.
If California keeps this up, the state employees wont be able to travel.
“Ohio will become the 18th state to which California won’t pay for travel” -— This is insane. I blame Obama for starting much of the recent divisiveness over identity politics.
California’s the land of WOKE commies... I don’t want them coming to Florida. I hope we’re on their list.
Since when are states allowed to ban travel to other states?
Wouldn’t that be against the interstate commerce clause?
If Ohio is smart they will reciprocate by banning travel to California
Wouldn’t that be against the interstate commerce clause?
“California is banning state-funded travel to Ohio over the state’s new law …”
The headline is deceiving.
I did see that, but my question remains- How do they legally single out one state like that?
Actually, this humors the heck out of me. What fools. The States they target for no CA State travel to, couldn’t care less. The only ones hurt are their own State if any business needs to be accomplished between those States and their State employees are prevented from any travel to any of those 18 States. Talk about shooting oneself in your own foot. What total idiots. I’m sure Ohio is laughing its *ss off at CA.
From Northwest Ohio, I believe you are totally correct and yes they are the suckeyes.
You’re in luck, GOPJ:
“In addition to Ohio, California has banned travel to Arkansas, Florida, Montana, North Dakota and West Virginia, Alabama, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas.”
Isn’t that all racist, bigotist, discriminaist, whitist, blackist, etc, etc, etc.
Wonder if there is an agency in California to have them put our state on the list!
Yeah! We’re on the list!
I will not go to California.
