More than three weeks after the United States completed a chaotic and deadly troop withdrawal and evacuation of Americans and Afghan allies from Afghanistan, President Biden summed it up by deflecting blame — saying there was never going to be a “picture book” ending to the 20-year war.
Taking questions from reporters after a speech on the COVID-19 response and vaccination program on Thursday, Biden was asked about the public’s growing concern over his handling of the withdrawal as well as the threat of a government shutdown as even his own party is split on his economic priorities.
He said he will be discussing Afghanistan at the Quad Leaders Summit with leaders from India, Japan and Australia later Friday, calling it a “legitimate thing that we want to talk about.”

This isn’t going to sell. The public is pretty unanimous in the opinion that the withdrawal was badly managed. Trying to pass it off this way merely makes him look weak.
It went down exactly the way obama wanted It to
Sure it is - it’s a picture book straight out of Bosch...
Read the link I'm going to post. It's the chaos that gets to me.
Notice also the reference to an 1839 storm nailing the NE....global warming?? LOL
Is this the US’s, ‘Suez Canal’ moment? There’s rumblings in foreign corridors that the US has lost it’s gravitas. I don’t see anyone following us into a ‘disturbance’ for quite a while.
There are consequences which ‘Progressives’ don’t consider.
FU Blow Biden
Biden watched as the Taliban rumbled through city after city...and the order was OBVIOUSLY....stand down.
I remember the Suez Canal Crisis...I was 12...there was a big headline in the newspaper. The only thought I could remember was the possibility of war.
The USA has been in decline foreign policy wise since the end of WWII. The Communists and Socialists have been infiltrating the government ever since.
Deflecting blame for sure the buck stop there and there and there......................................................
the incident was the end of the British empire. Could we suffer the same fate with Afghanistan?
Actually, it was picture book...
...for the Taliban 😆
Picture book?
See Spot Run
It was never going to be pretty regardless of who oversaw the withdrawal. But it’s hard to believe that it could have been worse than the Biden fiasco.
Part of the plan was to take back all the arms and equipment we gave to the Afghan army. Hard to understand how the Taliban would have been prevented from rumbling through city after city under those circumstances.

It certainly could have been worse. Biden put our troops in a deadly trap. The Taliban let us get out.
