The USDA has announced it will establish an Equity Commission to address historical discrimination and disparities in the ag sector. The announcement is an important step toward implementing President Biden’s commitment to address racial equality issues within USDA and its programs.
Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says this is just the first step in dismantling barriers historically underserved communities have faced in accessing USDA programs and services.

" . . . this is just the first step in dismantling barriers historically underserved communities have faced in accessing USDA programs and services."
Federal law has prohibited discrimination for 55 years, so just what are these "barriers"? And the term "underserved communities" really grates on me. What is that supposed to mean?
I hear it in Seattle regarding the public utilities, where I used to work. As long as you pay your bills, when you throw the switch, the lights come on. When you turn the spigot, water comes out. Every week, your garbage is picked up. What does race or sexual orientation or being a Muslim have to do with it?

I’m glad I sold my horticulture/agriculture/nursery business in 2017, and retired after 23yrs.

Is the commission going to charge President Retard with discrimination after the law stopped him from ripping off white farmers?!

"As long as you pay your bills..."There you have it! You have a white supremacist attitude expecting people to work hard, make money, pay their bills, and make their own way in life! You need to work on getting fully woke.

As long as the Constitution still means more than the paper it’s written on, the government will have a difficult time with ‘land reform’. There is still the ‘takings Clause’. The Government must pay fair market value.
Last month an 80 acre plot in Iowa broke the price record by $300/acre of $22,600/acre. (It did have a wind turbine that the last plot did not) Have at it!

Equity. That is the new word of the progressives. It is not something granted by God, as is equality. It will be force-fed by ‘elites’ in power who know more than you do.

Just as with the DOJ - you can literally implement any political program you like by connecting it to “racial equity.”

Nothing like using a South African policy.
I don't want to sound like a smart ass,but I have never seen a black farmer. I know there are but this issue seems to be created by Fedgov and America haters.

"Finally getting that 40 acres and a mule!" Can you imagine? Those boys would actually have to work, instead of waiting for a handout. After a year the fields would lie fallow, the mule would be skin and bones, and the tax man wouldn't be paid. Foreclosure is imminent.

The opposite may be true as well, but that would be racist...
