Deportees land in Port-au-Prince: ‘Nobody told us we were going back to Haiti’

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — He crossed the Mexican border into Texas only two weeks ago, joyous at the prospect of building anew in the United States. Now part of the first wave of deportees rapidly ejected by the Biden administration amid a fresh surge at the border, Johnson Bordes, 23, stepped off a Boeing 737 on Sunday and into the Haitian capital...

...He mingled with other confused deportees, many of whom hadn’t seen Haiti in years and now spoke Spanish or Portuguese better than Haitian Creole. Several families told The Washington Post that they were never told they were being deported back to Haiti.

“If Biden continues with these deportations, he’s no better than Trump,” Bordes said. “I’m afraid for my safety here. I don’t even know this country anymore.”...

I still say load them on cruise ships, sail to Haiti. If they won’t get off sink the ship.

Well why don’t you do what most do and search the internet then you can come back and tell us all about it since any answer you’re given doesn’t satisfy you.

but that’s where they came from - we’re giving them back their ‘burden’. The haitians from Chili? send them back to Chili. The guy who left Haiti at 12 and only speaks Portuguese? Back to Brazil. Not like the repatriation flights we’re already running to 10 South American countries are full. The TX ‘bridge’ Haitians are going back and forth to Mexico at least once a day for food and water. News travels. I don’t see how they’re going to get people to stay in an airplane seat if they know they’re going to somewhere they seriously don’t want to go. Back to south American point of origin would be an easier sell, is all I’m sayin’.

Twenty years ago, there were 50 recorded Haitians living in Chile; now there are 200,000, or about 1 percent of the population. They are all over Santiago and their presence is a hot political issue there. But how they could get from Chile to Texas is another matter - it is heaps, literal heaps of miles to cross unless you can afford to fly.

some of these people have been in soAm for years - after the last disaster in Haiti they sold their stuff and paid to get to SoAm via Cuba. Mexico, being the closet racists they are, wouldnt let Haitians joining the waves and caravans apply for settlement papers in Mexico and was retaining them in detention camps and slowly deporting them and Cubans, also. This past weekend, during the Mexico Day holiday whatever, Mexico turned it’s back and opened the doors to the detention facilities and the Haitians were free to go. So they headed north. Is the explanation I’ve seen given.

Why does the USA need ONE more immigrant for any reason? Especially during a “pandemic” and especially since the USA is de industrializing and needs fewer unskilled uneducated workers.

Same here. Plenty of time to apply for legal entry into our nation.

No sale. We don't need them.

Why is the Biden administration sending them all back?

Do they tend to vote Republican, or something?

I did not realize that Kanadahar (Canada) is now considered a part of ‘Latin America’. Glad I’ve been informed of that.
