Virginia Department of Health Announces Launch of QR Codes to Verify COVID-19 Vaccination Status ~ QR codes are secure and private for users, easy for businesses ~
RICHMOND – The Virginia Department of Health today announced the addition of QR codes – a type of barcode that can be scanned with smartphones – to Virginia COVID-19 vaccination records.
QR codes – short for “quick response” – are commonly used in retail, logistics, and other sectors. The technology allows anyone to show proof of vaccination with a digital or printed QR code instead of a paper card, and without the need for an app. As more and more employers and businesses respond to calls by President Biden and Governor Northam to require that employees and customers be vaccinated, QR codes will help improve the consistency and security of vaccination information while protecting individual privacy.
A person vaccinated in Virginia can visit vaccinate.virginia.gov to obtain their free vaccination record with QR code, which can then be saved to a phone gallery, printed on paper, or stored in a compatible account.
QR codes contain the same information as paper records, but in a format that offers greater security and efficiency. Because the QR code is digitally signed by the Virginia Department of Health, it cannot be altered or forged. Information from QR codes is only available if and when the individual chooses to share it. Businesses and employers that choose to verify an individual’s vaccination status can scan QR codes with the free SMART Health Verifier App. Individuals do not need to download an app to use QR codes.
Virginia is now the fifth U.S. state to adopt the SMART Health format for QR codes, empowering individuals with trustworthy and verifiable copies of their vaccination records in digital or paper form using open, interoperable standards. The framework and standards were developed by VCI, a coalition of more than 800 public and private organizations – including The Mayo Clinic, Boston Children’s Hospital, Microsoft, MITRE, and The Commons Project Foundation.
QR codes are available to anyone whose vaccination record includes a working phone number and is in the Virginia Immunization Information System (VIIS). Nearly all doses administered in Virginia are reported to VIIS, including pharmacies, physician offices, health department clinics, federally qualified health centers, and community vaccination centers. Some doses administered outside Virginia to Virginia residents may be in VIIS. Doses administered directly by federal agencies such as the Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs are not reported to VIIS. A person whose record cannot be retrieved automatically may call 877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682, TTY users call 7-1-1) for assistance.
With more than 10.2 million doses of vaccine administered so far in Virginia, more than 58% of the population is fully vaccinated. Everyone 12 or older is eligible to be vaccinated now. To find free vaccines nearby, visit vaccinate.virginia.gov or call 877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682, TTY users call 7-1-1). Assistance is available in English, Spanish, and more than 100 other languages.
As part of the vaccination process they could just tattoo the QR code on your butt.
Meanwhile, the fully vaxxed are contracting and spreading CoupFlu
Which means these QR codes aren’t about public health, either, are they...
Okaaaaay...
Which means these QR codes aren’t about public health, either, are they...
Don't be a bad Comrade.
Don't ask questions.
Don't spread rumors.
Do as you are told, and they will kill you last. /sarc

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
note wording around "in" and "on". It is significant.
Possibly a matter of months before the forehead tattoos will be mandatory for non-vaxers...
IAC, it will be the first item on the communist’s agenda after they sweep the 22 mid-terms...
As was just proven in the CA recall last week, no matter how bad things look, initially, for the communist candidates, come election vote-counting day the Soros army will have done their job perfectly once again...
In liquor store, minimart, & government-school basements or storage facilities all across the US, the Soros money is expanding and preparing the ballot-producing machines in anticipation of the final lists of the candidates for the communist party...
Because the Internet is so secure.

Agreed. Time to slaughter a lamb and put the blood over my door.
Count the votes of the marked sheep, delete the vote of the unmarked....easy peasy....
Marked wins in landslide!
Sorry, but I already slaughtered the Lamb, as did you, as did everyone. I put Him on a cross 2,000 years ago. The Good News is that He welcomes all who will Believe in Him. Salvation is easy. Keeping Him as Lord of my life, is TOUGH!
Anything digital can be hacked.....
Especially Microsoft stuff.
I am so glad that God moved us from the commie state of Virginia. I saw the walls closing in. So happy to NOT live there any longer....Happy all of my family has moved as well.
Good riddance, Virginia!
In their right hand. Must be a mobile phone to be "In" their hand. Prophesy is amazing.
..."but I don't have a mobile phone". No problem, the Beast will issue you one.
‘Digitally signed’ QR codes? Uh, no. I do not believe such a thing exists. The full RFC for QR codes is available from IETF. I can find no reference for a ‘digital signature’ to be included in a QR code. I could see how you could do it using public keys and such, but find no reference to including that in the RFC defining the data structure.
Exactly. I need to find a website that has some good viruses and/or worms that I can make a QR code of, to screw with people asking for these things.
You can make a QR code out of any text. For instance, the following is John 3:16 ...
An FDA Panel Says Only High-Risk Americans And Those 65+ Should Get COVID Boosters
September 17, 20213:45 PM ET, Scott Hensley
In a surprising vote, a panel of advisers to the Food and Drug Administration recommended against approval of a booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for people 16 years and older.
The 16-2 vote against broad use of the booster, which would be given about six months after completion of the two-dose immunization regimen, dealt a setback to Pfizer and complicates the FDA’s approach to boosters.
After a brief intermission following the rejection, FDA officials returned to the meeting with a revised booster question. The panel then voted 18-0 in support of the agency authorizing a booster shot of the vaccine for people 65 and older or at high risk of severe COVID-19.
The FDA then polled the panel members for advice on other groups of people who might be considered for a booster. Though not an official vote, the panel members unanimously supported authorization of a Pfizer booster dose for health care workers or others at high risk of occupational coronavirus exposure.
The agency typically follows the advice of its advisory committees, though it isn’t required to.
The Biden administration said in August that it planned to make booster shots available during the week of Sept. 20. That announcement was controversial because it came before the FDA had weighed Pfizer’s application and before the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s own panel of experts on immunization practices could consider the need for boosters.
The rise of the highly infectious delta variant of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and some evidence that the Pfizer vaccine’s protection against infections wanes with time are two of the factors that were cited in support of a booster.
But presentations Friday generally showed that the vaccine is still effective in protecting immunized people against severe illness, hospitalization and death in the United States.
Separately, however, an analysis published Friday in the CDC’s “Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report” found that the Pfizer vaccine’s protection against COVID-19 hospitalization dropped from 91% during the first 120 days after vaccination to 77% in the days after that.
Over the course of the meeting, speakers from the FDA, Pfizer, the CDC, Israel and the U.K. presented data on the state of the coronavirus pandemic, experience with the Pfizer vaccine and lab tests.
The most direct support for the Pfizer booster came from laboratory work and a clinical study done by Pfizer that involved a little over 300 people.
“The difficulty for the committee is that you’re making incredibly important policy decisions very rapidly in a situation of uncertainty,” said Jonathan Sterne, a statistician from the University of Bristol who made a presentation to the panel.
It’s good for them. It’s hard to resist, when they can completely remove your financial security by turning off your QR code.
What people may not understand about QR codes is that it will tie all your personal information together in a neat database and what you’re allowed to do, based on your social credit score, will be controlled somewhere centrally.
