A special prosecutor appointed more than two years ago to investigate the origins of the Trump-Russia collusion scandal has filed criminal charges against a prominent cyber security lawyer.
Michael E. Sussman has been indicted on a charge of making a false statement about a client during a meeting with the FBI during a meeting in 2016, the Department of Justice announced on Thursday.
The charges, which had been anticipated, have been denied by Mr Sussman’s lawyers, who say the DoJ’s evidence is weak and they will take the case to trial.
It marks just the second case brought by special prosecutor John Durham, since his appointment by Donald Trump’s Attorney-General Bill Barr in May 2019.

Mr Sussmann’s firm, Perkins Coie, has deep Democratic connections. A then-partner at the firm, Marc Elias, brokered a deal with the Fusion GPS research firm to study Trump’s business ties to Russia. That work, by former British spy Christopher Steele, produced a dossier of research that helped form the basis of flawed surveillance applications targeting a former Trump campaign official, Carter Page.

Either Durham knows,or at least hopes,that he can flip this guy...or he’s recently found a horse’s head in his bed.
Anybody who still supports the Democrats has a criminal heart.

Lets hope this is just the beginning of a much bigger case. By all rights it should be considering how long Durham has been a work.
Unless I’m mistaken John Durham was never named a “special prosecutor.”
He was and is just a prosecutor who was given an assignment.
That's not what I'm hearing but flipping him would be cool. He charged Sussman because the statute of limitations was about to expire and he didn't want to let him off the hook. I'm hopeful there's a lot more to come.
Sussmann's lawyers, Sean Berkowitz and Michael Bosworth, said their client is a highly-respected national security lawyer who had previously worked in the Justice Department under both Republican and Democratic administrations and said they were confident he would prevail at trial and "vindicate his good name."

The Michael Sussman memorial bike rack has already been cast and assembled. As soon as the FBI gets freed up on the hounding of Biden adversaries a robbery gone wrong can be arranged.
What needs to be the headline is that an attorney with Perkins Coie got indicted.
Perkins Coie is completely in bed with the DNC and if this guy would rat out Perkins Coie there would be big trouble.
