All diplomats attending the UN general assembly in New York next week will have to provide proof of vaccination, the city government has confirmed, prompting an angry response from Russia.

Delegates must be vaccinated to enter the debate hall, the mayor’s office told the assembly president in a letter dated 9 September....

Russia’s ambassador...Vassily Nebenzia...described it as “a clearly discriminatory measure”, adding that preventing delegates to access the hall was a “clear violation of the UN charter”....

This is getting to be dark humor.

We could get a win win out of this if the UN voted to leave NY and the US!

That’s not right because it’s in effect like an embassy. OTOH, the UN is a bunch of lib weenies and are all behind totalitarian COVID measures, so....Meh, who cares ?

The dark humor of this is that the US is now the Pfascist totalitarian, and the Russians are standing up for human liberty and human rights.

Crazy times!

The sweet land of liberty has turned into the foul pile of $%$#.

Well, your former statement may be ok, but that latter statement...well....

At the bottom of the article, is says

New York accepts all vaccines that have been approved by either the World Health Organization or America’s federal Food and Drug Administration.

Russians would likely be nationalistic, and opt for Sputnik. Except there is one problem...

Sputnik isn't approved by the WHO and I don't see any evidence that it's kosher in NYC.

So this is likely disingenuous reporting.

Although it is in New York City, the land occupied by the United Nations Headquarters and the spaces of buildings that it rents are under the sole administration of the United Nations and not the U.S. government. They are technically extraterritorial through a treaty agreement with the U.S. government.

However, in exchange for local police, fire protection, and other services, the United Nations agrees to acknowledge most local, state, and federal laws.

Useful to note Sputnik V was declared excellent by the Lancet in a peer-reviewed layout of the clinical trial data. The objections holding up approval at this point seem to be inspection of the manufacturing plant not meeting WHO standards.

This happened to Johnson & Johnson in Baltimore. Their vaccine doses are likely to be an inventory at your local pharmacy are from the Netherlands factory. I don’t know where the Pfizer manufacturing plant is. Probably not the US.

It’s also very likely that there is some competitive issue involved. Sputnik V is selling well all over the world. England, with Oxford AstraZeneca, likely competes, and there is sinovac as well.

Know that vaccines are not rocket science. These are not difficult things to do. All these countries that are creating their own vaccines are likely creating an item that works just fine.

Ridiculous...Let them do a conference call. It’s the 21st century. Absolutely no reason to come to NYC.

Funny. You mean the same Lancet where it was discovered their own writers were in cahoots with the Chicoms about China virus?

REVEALED: 26 out of the 27 Lancet scientists who trashed theory that Covid leaked from a Chinese lab have links to Wuhan researchers

That’s exactly how the left feels about our general communicating with China. “He’s a republican President so who cares”.

If we have principles and stand by them there would be no room for tit for tat.
