So, it is pretty widely accepted that Chairman Mao was a mass murderer. Most Americans, and probably 97 percent of Iowans, would be hesitant to honor Mao Zedong in any sort of way.
But then there’s that pesky three percent that none of us can ever really understand.
Enter Democrat Andrea Phillips who is running for Iowa House District 37.
Late last week it surfaced that Phillips had a statue of Chairman Mao in her home through this Instagram post

Mao Zedong’s greatest crime was the “Great Leap Forward,” the largest artificial famine in history, which caused at least 30 million people to starve to death. I’m sure the statue won’t go over well with Iowans, inasmuch as Iowa is famous as a farming state.

There is a certain group of white people who are programmed with an overwhelming desire to "fit in" and please "their betters" and be seen as politically correct. If the zeitgeist is Mao, then by all means build a shrine to him.

Mao Zedong’s entire reign was a crime against humanity and specifically against Chinese culture which he hated. Its purpose was the destruction of traditional Chinese culture, like the radicals are doing here now, and the institution of a new culture designed around the CCP ; this is what Xi Jinping, the New Emperor of China, is attempting to re-institute during this dynasty.
The Famine was caused by production quotas Mao set - everyone reported good harvests out of fear, so he exported the harvests and left nothing for the people to eat. This is the largest example of the CCP creating problems which have deadly consequences and something the CCP continues to do to this day.
