The Grand Mosque of Hagia Sophia survived almost unscathed, although a minaret collapsed. Inside the mosque, the plaster that had been used to cover up the Byzantine mosaics inside the dome fell off, revealing the Christian images.

Again, I innocently looked this up on wikipedia and took a quote, but the link is to “harvard.edu” - you’ll likely find the same reference there if not the exact same quote. Sorry, mods, I won’t reference wikipedia again!
You can reference wikipedia but not post articles from it. But the banning of any articles from wikipedia is an overreaction, as aside from political and some science and religion articles then it can be a helpful resource. Thus I have posted articles from cloned WPsites while being a critic of its liberal bias that effects certain subjects.
