The mil let *thousands* go after the RVN war shut down. The guys that joined the USAF to avoid the Army bailed en-masse. I lost almost 80% of the unit I was in.

Mustering out trained, experienced, conservative veterans en masse to enter the general population of Americans--free to join the ranks of conservative and civic groups and train them in fitness, tactics, organization, leadership, and marksmanship, not to mention use of any surplus heavy weapons--"in case needed"? Freed from the nonsensical, perverted, treasonous orders of REMF generals and officers?
Now there would be the makings of a Minute Man corps that would do our Founders proud.

Ditto with the Navy. Remember, the USAF and the USN were a four-year hitch, whereas the Army was a two-year hitch. Thus, the USAF and the USN were the focus of early outs when the Vietnam War wound down.
I keep waiting for anyone to ask: How many of these flu shot mafioso’s or their families hold shares on Moderna, Pfizer et al. it is the only real question.

I wonder, when push comes to shove if there are truly many who will leave over this. We’re not at war- the service is a good gig for 3-20 years. How many are willing to walk?

More than likely, they would become eligible for a “Cold War” type of discharge with all types of benefits from education financial aid to GI home loans.
Then, as you noted, they will become great allies in our 24/7 battles with the liberals.
