Fiddlesticks.

The mil let *thousands* go after the RVN war shut down. The guys that joined the USAF to avoid the Army bailed en-masse. I lost almost 80% of the unit I was in.

BTW - I would take the offer of a get out of jail free card. Got your 180 days in active? Hook up with the VA and go to school...

Be interesting to see if this triggers an economic crisis....

Ditto with the Navy. Remember, the USAF and the USN were a four-year hitch, whereas the Army was a two-year hitch. Thus, the USAF and the USN were the focus of early outs when the Vietnam War wound down.
