DeSantis: 2024 presidential bid speculation 'purely manufactured' 'I hear all this stuff and honestly it's nonsense,' said DeSantis

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday dispelled rumors that he may be running for president in 2024, referring to the buzz around the subject as "purely manufactured."

"All the speculation about me is purely manufactured," DeSantis said during a news conference to discuss a new COVID-19 treatment unit in St. Cloud, Florida. "I just do my job and we work hard… I hear all this stuff and

DeSantis' remarks on the subject come just days before he headlines a Nebraska event with other potential 2024 candidates to celebrate agriculture on Sept. 12 in Nebraska City. During the gathering, DeSantis will speak alongside former Vice President Mike Pence and Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. The event will also correspond with Gov. Pete Ricketts’ annual steak fry, which is being held at Arbor Lodge Historical Park.

DeSantis, in many ways, has likened himself to former President Donald Trump and stood firm against many policies implemented by President Joe Biden's administration, mask mandates, and lockdown measures throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

DeSantis' remarks also come on the same day Fox News confirmed that Trump will travel to Iowa in October for a rally, marking his first trip back to the first-in-the-nation caucus since the 2020 election, raising speculation as to whether he will seek to return to the White House through the 2024 presidential election.

He has to say that right now. Otherwise it becomes a bloody feeding frenzy long, long before it even matters.
Whoever the GOP candidates are, they better be ready for all the biased, leading questions.

I called this months ago. Gov. Desantis is a major supporter of President Trump and his agenda. He is NOT/was NEVER going to run against President Trump. Period.

I prefer the previous comment. Why position himself so early?

Trump should not run. Too old, never mind the baggage.

Yeah about that. Disagree.

DeSantis bowing out early of course. can’t run next to Trump. Pres and vp can’t be from the same state. If we are still following rules.

Most definitely true. Plus he’s not stupid and he’s only 42 years old. He’s the perfect candidate to follow Trump and carry the torch until January 2037.

Good call. But the people who want to be a pollyannas say Trump’s got baggage and Desantis is more likeable. Wrong. DeSantis has tons of baggage too (nickname Deathsantis by the Dems), but doesn’t have the appeal. And on the age concern...lol. He runs circles around his younger opponents.

He's young enough, and Trump won't get to run again in 2028, so he can plan methodically.

I respect that.

I like the guy a lot.

Florida and Texas have impressed me over the last few
years.

I’m not seeking to infer they were bad before that, just so
folks know where I’m coming from.

LOL. Trump has more cognizant abilities and more energy than most people decades younger. I’ve noticed you’ve made a habit of posting against President Trump seeking reelection. It happens so often that I’ve made note of it.

Didn’t realize he was that young. DeSantis is full of surprises — an amazing individual.

It’s too early to know with certainty who will be running....I do think we’ve got a good chance to see Trump running as long as his health holds out. DeSantis may just be the one who will jump in if Trump bows out for whatever reason. I’d be happy with either.

I get what you’re saying, but...

Remember that the “baggage” was defined by the Left.

Regarding his age, the next few years will tell.

Should tomorrow be no different than today, Trump is definitely my preference.

Keeping DeSantis as a Red state governor is critical, and the perfect model for other aspiring governors.
