CHICAGO -- At least 58 people have been shot, four fatally, across Chicago since Friday evening, including several children.
Two backyard shootings within four blocks of each other occurred a little over an hour apart early Monday on the South Side.
A 22-year-old man was standing in his backyard about 11:40 p.m. Sunday in the 9500-block of South Yale Avenue in Longwood Manor when he heard a loud noise and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.
He was shot in the face and transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.
About 1 a.m., a man, 50, was standing in a backyard in the 9900-block of La Salle Street in Fernwood when he was shot by someone who opened fire from a blue Buick, police said.
Three people were shot, two critically, following an argument in West Lawn on the Southwest Side.
An argument between two males resulted in an unidentified offender opening fire about 3:55 a.m. in the 3600-block of West 67th Street, Chicago police said.
A 35-year-old man was shot multiple times in the body and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital where they were listed in critical condition, police said.
A 24-year-old man was shot in the left side of his head and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was also listed in critical condition, police said.
A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg and also taken to Christ where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Some of the 58 shot will die in the hospital, but that will never be reported. The stats will only reflect 58 shot.

The dems haven’t tried to take guns from the violent criminals. But they will use this as an excuse to take guns from non-violent citizens.
Probably a number of factors, not the least of which is that Chicago trauma teams are among the best trained and most experienced in the world.

I’m sure they are very talented, but a good shot would be a kill shot before the ambulance even gets there.

What really ticks me off is that people just think, “just shot”, well, not too bad. How many of those wounded have had their lives and the lives of their loved ones changed permanently?
On top of THAT, many of them are young.
People will be drunk and disorderly today as well.
I’ll predict another 17 shootings and two more deaths.
Sort of like "getting the jab" in New Zealand.
