See, I told you so.

Seriously, Trump was never the rock-solid conservative EverTrumpers zealously make him out to be. Proven over and over again.

He’s not terrible, but I fear most of the undying devotion of EverTrumpers is based mostly on his bombast and bomb-throwing on a few issues that are (indeed) big.

I watched his show. Did anyone here ever? Friends with Chuck Schumer, Snoop Doggie Dog, etc. I mean, I appreciate being able to “spread it around” (my sister was genius at this), but one has to look askance with the company kept and causes allowed.

I think it's brilliant. What's done is done. President Trump keeps the door open for people who can be reasoned with.

And let's face it: The Texas law is a result of dealing with animals who would execute a baby as old as 1 year. Insane death loving fanatics. Not reasonable, potential human beings.

He kept the door open for discussion with those who may have some common sense, few and far between that they are amongst the left.

For those that don’t know and don’t want to click on the DM link the interview will be on Sharyl Attkinson’s “Full Measure” airing at 930 am EST next Sunday, September 12.

The law itself is quite unusual because it doesn’t directly involve the state. It is meant as a run around to avoid being struck down as the STATE limiting abortion. My guess is it will be struck down but it raises interesting questions with big potential impact in many other areas. Not surprised the Supreme Court wants to let it percolate a little.

The headline is as deceptive as it gets. Trump didn't say he opposed the law.

He repeatedly said he supports Roe being overturned and the states deciding the issue.

I wish the “pro-life movement” would end tomorrow, along with the daily sacrifce/murder of unborn babies.

I hate the damn exploitative movement!

Trump has repeatedly said he supports Roe being overturned and the states deciding the issue.

He put judges on SCOTUS that appear to be on the verge of making a major move in that direction.

“Having citizens enforcing laws that are at this time unconstitutional opens the door for leftards in other states to suppress our constitutional rights.

This stupid law will set the pro-life movement back decades, IMO.”

I think you’re right.

He’s probably right. Don’t be disappointed when it’s overturned by a lower court.

Oh, bullshit. The majority support a ban of abortion at six weeks.

You're easily led by the nose by the media.

He likes to be able to say he likes women, blacks, gays, immigrants, the disabled etc at face value so he doesn’t feel or look bad. But then he ends up doing the opposite in actions so it doesn’t matter and shouldn’t concern anyone

Maybe he doesn’t want the blame for his SC picks, or he knows he needs “suburban women” if he ever runs again

Seriously, Trump was never the rock-solid conservative

No Republican President, including Reagan, has EVER kept more promises to his base than Trump.

More context:

When asked if he supported the new ruling, Trump dodged the question – instead taking credit for a series of conservative rulings due to his appointment of three Supreme Court justices during his four years in office.

‘Both sides seem to agree that this ruling is largely your doing based on the Supreme Court picks that you made. Do you agree with the ruling?’ Attkisson asked.

‘Well, I will tell you this: We do have a Supreme Court that’s a lot different than it was before, it was acting very strangely. And I think, probably not in the interests of our country,’ Trump said.

Of the new law, the former president said: ‘I’m studying it right now

He has probably been listening to Mark Levin. Levin basically said it was much ado over nothing.

“Not good.”

Depends on what’s more important to pro-life people:

Trump’s personal position on abortion.

—OR—

The fact that all 3 of Trump’s Supreme Court picks allowed the Texas heartbeat law to take effect.

Trump’s background is no secret. We all know that. What counts is what he did AFTER he became president. And maybe people need to be reminded that Trump actually did stuff where other so called conservatives only gave lip service or did the opposite.

Did he? When he talked about abortion he sounded like he had never heard pro-lifers talk. For example, he said pro-lifers wanted to put pregnant women in jail. I’ve never heard a pro-lifer ever say that. But I’ve heard pro-abortionists say that’s what pro-lifers want. So, why did he use pro-abortion terminology?

That said - I think Trump has always been pro-choice and he IS correct by pointing out that the only reason we got this ruling was because of his SC court pics. Certainly not because of W’s.

“I’m very pro-choice,” Trump said in an interview with Tim Russert in 1999. “I hate the concept of abortion. I hate it. I hate everything it stands for. I cringe when I listen to people debating the subject. But you still — I just believe in choice.”

Here is the case where the publican and sinner did more righteousness, and kept his word, than his religious presidential peers.
