My first thought - does Vindman really have that level of writing skill and political skill?
My second thought - a professional writer wrote this or polished this.
My third thought - did the Democratic Party use Vindman's wife to deliberately bait Josh Mandel?

My husband was a Major and later a Lt. Col. while stationed at the Pentagon.
We had to live 25 miles out of DC to find a home we could afford. We struggled financially and I worked part time at whatever I could find locally, school cafeteria, drug store cashier, etc.
Out of the blue, a wife of a high rank officer invited me to lunch in town. I drove with another wife 25 miles to the hostess’s house. We then found out that she wanted us to help with a benefit and sale at Bolling AFB, where we had never even been. Oh, and she asked us why didn’t we bring a sack lunch?
Yeah, I’m real impressed with Vindman. When my husband was at the Pentagon, he actually made the coffee every morning like the rest of the Lt. Cols.
I just read Vindman's bio on Wiki.
Vindman and the political press complained bitterly that Vindman was denied an expected promotion to full Colonel.
According to Wiki, Vindman was promoted to Major in 2008, at age 33, under President Bush.
Under Obama, Vindman had to wait SEVEN years to get promoted to LTC in 2015.

Never having been in the military, I'm wondering if I'm correct in my assumption that light colonel is not a particularly impressive rank?
Out in the field it is, when you are in command of a battalion with several hundred men.
In the Pentagon, it means you get coffee.
Second, anyone with Vindman’s mentality should not be serving in government. He is a perverse child.
Third, house the refugees in Vindman's home.
