Fewer than 4 in 10 California voters support removing Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) from office in this month’s recall election, according to a new poll of likely voters released just over a week before ballots are due to be returned.
Just 39 percent of likely voters told pollsters at the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) they would vote to recall Newsom, while 58 percent said they would vote against the recall. Those figures are in line with earlier PPIC polls in March and May, which showed Newsom surviving by roughly the same margin.
About 4 in 5 Republicans will vote to recall Newsom. But the overwhelming majority of Democrats, 90 percent, say they will vote to keep him — and so do a plurality, 49 percent, of independent voters.

IMO the only way to possibly counter this is by voting on Election Day, either in person or by dropping off completed ballots at the Registrar's office or in the secured boxes at the Voting Centers.
Since it appears almost everyone in the state hates Newsom it this would be a flood of votes overwhelming their system. They'll be scrambling to get their fix completed, but this time right out in the open, which is how mistakes happen.
Larry Elder has promised vigorous blowback against their efforts and already has lawyers lined up should litigation be necessary.
I see this as our only hope.

Unfortunately living in this state, the poll is most likely accurate..the way it is here, half the state are govt sucking morons who will sell their own mothers for 600 bucks, which is what Newsom gave them, he was smart, he knew all he had to do was throw some cash at people and they would clap like trained seals..the other part is, the commies in this state would rather live in filth than ever vote for a Republican..for them having hobos stab them and crap on the street is better than having a Republican in office..so here we are..most likely the schmuck will survive the recall and have MORE mandates, which if you hear people being interviewed, they are fine with..they are fine with tyranny

Really. I was born here in 1960. Never have I voted for a Democrat. This state voted for Reagan twice. It is my opinion that this state was ruined by transplants from the east, like Pelosi and Boxer. I didn’t earn any misery, I have fought against it my entire voting life.

I think the Cal problem is that all the incoming are liberal/left.
From Mexico, Central America, Asia, and the US East Coast.
Corruption in our Government and down the line is so thick few can see to get through any of it. And the corporate conglomerates are just as bad. It’s all gone on for so long that they certainly have it wrapped up neatly.
Unfortunately both sides of the aisle are takers so to whom does the average man go? Apart from the Almighty himself intervening I see no good end for our nation and peoples.
