Prayers for them.
The Navy Hymn
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep,
Its own appointed limits keep.
Oh hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea! Amen.
Eternal Father, lend Thy grace To
those with wings who fly thro’ space,
Thro wind and storm, thro’ sun and rain,
Oh bring them safely home again.
Oh Father, hear an humble prayer,
For those in peril in the air! Amen.
Oh Trinity of love and pow’r,
Our brethren shield in danger’s hour,
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them where so e’er they go.
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea! Amen.
What the heck is going on in this world. The Taliban can basically pick-up-and-play a Blackhawk, but our guys can’t fly a Seahawk?
Growing up, I heard that hymn every Sunday.
That’s “white supremacy” and so has been ordered to be dropped by the Navy...under penalty of court martial.
At night, on a carrier at sea, things dan and do go wrong hard and fast. Any otter bright comments?
Military is too busy being woke.
This is disgraceful. And no one is ever held accountable.
Rotary-wing aviation is extremely complex, both piloting and maintaining - there are a billion different things that can go wrong at any given moment.
Have you ever flown one or worked on one?
I know that its just a weird juxtaposition between two days.
My first chief of the VFD I was a member of worked on helo’s in Nam, and continued to work on them throughout the early 2000’s as a Texas National Guard member (and retired US Army E-9).
My biological father flew them in Korea.
Both had the same thing to say - it’s not the helo’s fly so much as they are so butt-ugly the Earth repels them.
Fair winds and following seas shipmates. May you find rest in Valhalla.
Your comparison is wrong. Training flight accidents happen all the time. They did before, during, and after my helo deck Navy days. Some are mechanical failures; some are human error, some are weather. The frequency of training has the odds against every aircraft coming home. And yes, contrary to those who focus on the "woke" military, our forces still train. There are deaths and wounds in every branch, without ever seeing combat.
My very best to the families of my Shipmates.
Wrong, all branches investigate any deaths unrelated to combat. Read the Navy Times or Army Times or Military Times and you'll see honest reports of those who ARE held accountable. It depends on the circumstances.
The personnel of the 2 warships that collided with freighters some time ago were held responsible (loss careers) and even fired the Pacific Fleet CIC (Admiral). IIRC, on one ship a couple of mid-level officers were busted (2 women in-fighting) and re-assigned to desk duty, and a Master Chief was fired. Any of those above who were disciplined, no longer have careers in the Navy.
Stick to what you know. Whatever that is, it isn’t Naval Aviation.
“That’s “white supremacy” and so has been ordered to be dropped by the Navy...under penalty of court martial.”
You’re pulling my leg, right?
