Just when you thought corporate wokeness couldn’t get any worse, it does. General Michael Flynn announced in his Telegram channel today that he received a letter from Chase Bank informing him they know longer want his business.
Here’s what Chase sent him:
Gen. Flynn posted this in his Telegram channel after receiving the word Chase no longer wanted his business. The letter stated:
Update: We are closing your credit cards
After careful consideration, we decided to close your credit cards on September 18, 2021 because continuing the relationship creates possible reputational risk to our company.
Flynn responded via Telegram, “Chase Bank has gone full blown woke! They need to deal with their own reputation instead of persecuting my family and I. DOJ dropped my case for their own egregious government misconduct, appears you weren’t that lucky with the DOJ. I guess my America First political views don’t align with yours. Your loss ”
Welcome to Biden’s America, where a highly decorated and retired 3-star general is deemed by the corporate elite to be a “reputational risk” by wokesters who are more concerned with promoting Marxist BLM ideology, CRT, and anything else that will help the Democrat party stay in power.
The Democrats have outsourced the crushing of freedom to private industry. If they can do this to General Flynn, just imagine what they can do to Joe Nobody when the move into high gear.

During the financial crisis credit card companies and banks cancelled credit lines out the wazoo.

Good grief, a while back PayPal went woke so I closed my account, then American Express went woke so I cancelled my card, now Chase which I’ve banked with for decades; perhaps I’ll just withdraw everything and stuff my mattress.
I can garuntee nothing from Chase bank, wells fargo. I have my credit Union card and 1 other, that is it. And those are paid off monthly.
Not the same bank.
I’m surprised that General Flynn doesn’t have USAA credit cards. They are much better than Chase or other commercial issuers.

those were questionable business decisions (and Wells Fargo reversed its cancellation of customer lines of credit).
I think such cancellations should be prohibited, at least when they are imposed without reasonable, adequate notice to customers who are relying on them.
Having said all that, going out of line of business such that no one individual is singled out on improper grounds, could be defended as simply a long-term business strategy for the corporation. It is different when individual(s) are selected and culled out on purely political, religious, etc grounds. Much more pernicious.
When government does it directly, it is called leftism or communism or Nazism or “progressivism”... When big corporate business does it, it may be called fascism but it amounts to the same thing, same adverse impact on the country, society.
And here we have a business whose entire operation is conducted pursuant to a governmental license... so that the definitions, line between communism and fascism is especially blurred in this case. Again, for our society there is precious little actual different in the adverse impacts, no matter what termimology we apply

There are still some "smaller" banks that haven't succumbed to the corporate race to go woke and disenfranchise their clients.
This looks bogus to me. If a bank really sent this type of letter they would specify the account or accounts by number and name in the subject line and body of the message and I doubt the subject line would be called “Update”.

Chase has ceased doing business with other conservative entities. I cancelled a card I had with them a long time as a result, and gave them the message: Get woke, go broke!
