Amid the blood-spattered horrors of Kabul, perhaps the most startling response has been an outpouring of warlike passion from disaffected young Western men. But they’re not backing Western soldiers. They’re cheering on the Taliban.
Far-Right groups are gloating. One user on an online message board called the toppled Western-backed Afghan government ‘globohomo-clownworld’. He characterised this as powered by ‘liberalism, consumerism, secularism, usury, democracy, global capitalism… and most of all, feminism/women’s rights/women’s liberation’.
Such men consider abhorrent this value system that an America-led coalition spent trillions of dollars trying to instil, via two decades of Afghan ‘nation-building’.
These alienated men hate all of it – the whole woke world view, from racial tolerance to LGBT rights to feminism. And they’re lionising the Taliban as heroic anti-woke freedom fighters.

I am curious why this Administration that pushes wokism would basically put the most anti-woke group in charge of a country and a huge arsenal.

I was in Baghdad when the ivygarchy did their group think to approve the plan for the debathification program. I was friends with the architect at the time (I don’t know where he is now) of the program and told him the truth that the plan wad bad inciting all the bath members in the government and start from scratch. They needed to get rid of key leaders and keep the rest and pay them their inflated salaries to rebuild their nation or they were going to cause trouble. My greatest example was the one I should not have used, denazification of Germany, as all it do was glaze and harden his outlook to do it as planned. 10 years plus of sustained attacks by vengeful and hungry people and our leaving in 2012 came from that decision by the DoS. I still think the brain children who approved that mess still need to atone for that mistake but they likely sleep well that they did their best.

The culture supports bat st#t nuts at every turn. There are no common standards for personal behavior, mainly because standards marginalize the bat sh#t crazy, and we can’t have that. The rotten apples have spoiled the whole bushel. It doesn’t take going Taliban to reset things, though. It just takes restoring (somehow) the normality that existed here not that long ago, and which I am old enough to remember. People of my grandparents’ generation would be horrified to see what passes as “normal” in today’s freak show world.
My brother is basically a 1960’s hippie who kept most of the values and opinions that he had as a teenager. He is alarmed at the techno-surveillance and medical oddities of our time. He is also genuinely very confused right now. Talking to him about Afghanistan, he was of the opinion that many and perhaps most of the women there want to live like the Taliban commands - invisible, in burkas, and unable to safely take a walk alone in their neighborhoods. He is twisting himself into a pretzel trying to reconcile his world view with evidence of profound dishonesty and corruption. Interesting times.
Because the Left learned their lesson well that it was the citizens of the United States that prevented them from attaining the power they crave.
The author is confused. To deplore the horrifying excesses of the decadence of Western Civilisation is not to fail to deplore the horrifying excesses of the Taliban. A truth seeker deplores both.
I agree. From about the end of our first year in Afghan, I’ve been saying we should leave victorious with a real threat to return and take out any new government that dared to challenge us. After a few cycles of that, I imagine a government coming along that didn’t want to doe and be replaced.
We wasted nearly a Trillion dollars on women’s inclusion programs in Afghan. Knowing that country’s history, that would equal a Trillion in bribes if they hung a few signs and advanced a few females.
So, now they’re trying to tie in us conservatives with Taliban.
Sorry, a few reactionary hothead nuts does not make us all anything like even ANTIFA, much less Moslems.

I don't have to read such stories. Living in Los Angeles, I see them.
A few years back, I was at a Starbucks, and I saw a grimy man step out of the bathroom wearing a sparkly miniskirt. He giggled and smirked at me, as if daring me to say something. I'm not sure if he was homeless or just a beach bum.
In another Starbucks, some homeless black guy stripped naked. The baristas, calling him "Sir," asked him to please go outside.
I once saw a homeless black woman defecating in an alley. She grinned at me as I walked by. And I saw a well-to-do man beside his sports car one morning, pissing in the street.
I've seen homeless walk out of the supermarket, brazenly carrying stolen items, and the security guards won't stop them. I guess they were told not to provoke an incident.
I can go on. L.A. is a toilet.
She's trying to redirect the legitimate anger at Biden's criminal incompetence onto conservatives because some nut on some obscure board praised the taliban.
In the meantime try and find an article from Western Feminists criticizing how women are treated in ME cultures.

YES! This is the stupidest, not to mention, wordiest, piece I’ve read in a long time. We righties are hailing the Taliban? OMG. The pretzels she twists in her mind to cheer the feminine wokesters - quite a feat.
