The son of a school administrator from Media was excited to start classes at Millersville University, until he learned that a roommate hadn’t been vaccinated and didn’t plan on it.
So he asked the university in Lancaster County for a vaccinated roommate, which it said it couldn’t guarantee but assigned him to another room, according to his father, who asked that their names not be published for fear of backlash. That roommate also turned out to be unvaccinated. So the university offered a private room in an area with upperclassmen, but the father said at that point his son withdrew and enrolled at a private university in New York that has a vaccine mandate for students.
“We thought we had no choice,” the father said. “We had to go somewhere else. That’s what the last year and a half has been about, trying to protect ourselves.”

Other area universities said that they also have received requests from parents of vaccinated students to have their children with the same but that the number has been low. For the most part, they are telling students they must go through the same process for a roommate change as those who want them for other reasons.

“The likelihood of him getting sick to the point of having to be hospitalized at his age with a vaccination is so minimal that it’s probably more dangerous going to a fraternity party,” she said.

The KOOL AID sure is being drunk all over.
Sending your kid off to college will cost him more than just the outrageous tuition.
The jab will cost him more than a couple days of having a sore arm.
But, it’s their choice.
I also believe, that it IS important for parents to be "on call" when stupid stuff is taught, be it in 7th grade or graduate school. The pandemic opened up many parents' eyes to the claptrap their kids are being fed. So non-helicopter parenting involvement is more important than ever.
But we may be surprised. I know of a college student who was Zooming a class while parents and friends were in the other room. Everyone stopped talking and started listening to the claptrap emanating from the professor. "The Great Depression was caused by Wall Street.." etc. All the people over 40 were freaking out. After the class, during the "deprogramming" the student said "guys, don't worry, nobody is paying attention. I speak to my classmates in the virtual breakout rooms and everyone is basically nodding but not believing. Are there any chips left"
Remember, the stupid kids who give dumb answers to basic questions, are usually in NY or LA or D.C, where the media are HQd and the woke send their single child. Deplorables with 3+ kids are more discerning. Do the math and the future isn't too dim.

If the vaccine is as effective as claimed, what difference does it make what anyone else does: Whether they are vaxxed or unvaxxed, masked or unmasked, coughing or chewing?
The roommate should have said such information would only be disclosed to authorized persons.

You are the first one to answer my questions. I appreciate it back at ya. I've got responses/clarifications to some points you made. I'll admit they are based on personal interactions with my DR and various medical personnel and could be considered anecdotal, so I'll refrain from posting them.
