“You are good at democratese.”
Hey, it’s just history. Why should the current Dim mayor be any better than the one during Katrina?
Yet I would ask the Louisiana state legislature, why, since Katrina, has it not been law that cities like New Orleans have a pre-planned evacuation plan, that it be updated every year and that it be proven to the state each year that it has done that, and that the governor’s office verifies that every year, and that the legislature demands they get the report of that verification.
Louisiana should send a delegation to Japan and after doing so pass laws about emergency preparedness, laws making demands on cities and towns. When it comes to disaster preparedness and response, the Japanese are maybe better organized for that than anyone else.
I bet rich DNC donors are already making their plans on how to get their share of storm reconstruction and repairs money the federal government will be spending (in the tens of billions) to fix New Orleans again.
Never heard of that “law”, “rule”.
There is a place that you can go to for government transportation...but you’ll have to get there on your own.
Probably not along Canal Street. That’s where the Casino was, (near the end((or beginning))——but my nephew and I spend every day driving around the city and taking photographs, especially in the Lower 9th Ward, (”the bottom of the teacup”) which was only a few minutes by car from where he lived on higher ground on Poland Street (the Bywater) He was in a band that was already scheduled to go on tour-—and had to leave everything literally just a day or two before the scheduled onslaught of Katrina-—and he was one of the first people let back in months later, once the entire city had “drained”-—wish I had a better camera to really capture what we saw-— I had a good half dozen of those disposable 10 buck cameras, but got some very dramatic pictures. I am bracing to hear the more current news from NOLA, and am about to try to get in touch with him.
Thanks, I don’t remember the media ever mentioning this. This smart guy did what no one had the brains to do. I well remember all the pictures of the buses standing idle in a flooded area.
Society was surely ass backwards in this instance. The LA governor, the NO mayor should have been arrested for gross negligence of duty.
Not everyone can afford to evac, and those folks are being told it sucks to be them.
Some who can evac might be terrified of going to a shelter because they’re more scared of CoupFlu than Mother Nature.
Deep State and its state and local myrmidons have created a nightmare.
Yes ma’am!
Unbelievable
