"What is your Plan B?"

Go to my brothers house about one hour north/west of me if the forecast puts it to close to me. I lost trees during Katrina and as you know, it landed well west of me.

Many people who did evacuate New Orleans for Katrina brought their dogs with them here. Most were unable to find lodging that allowed animals. I wound up feeding seven different packs of (previously well-kept) abandoned dogs out here in my rural area for weeks.
Heart breaking...I think the county eventually wound up picking them all up.(I already had four dogs)

My prayers are with you. You may come evacuate to the Loveliest Village. We have room at my house.

Glad to know you have a solid Plan B. Now we watch the forecast track.

Glad you’re paying attention... and thanks for thinking outside your own box, too.

Thank you so much. If I leave, I'll go to my brothers house.

Wonder if we’ll hear “Joe Biden doesn’t care about black people” this time around.

Biden: "If you ain't made destitute and in need of massive government money, then you ain't black! Like my friend Corn Pop..."

Stay safe, all.

From the track I see, you should be heading inland to the northwest if you are on the coast.

Thanks for your great updates, FRiend. Yikes, Ida looks to be a bad one. Far worse obviously than Henri was for our neck of the woods.

Prayers for everyone in Ida's path....

Middle TN had terrible flooding from Henri a couple of weeks ago. The track doesn’t look good for them.

Best estimate at this time looks like center landfall forecast roughly 200 miles from your location, moving NW between Baton Roughe and Lafayette. Better estimates when Ida emerges into GOM.

TN surely doesn’t need more tropical precipitation right now.

I'm really not liking the ramp-up this afternoon's intensity forecasts... and it looks like the NHC is expecting the beast to slow down its forward speed before landfall...

Ida may be a retired storm name when this event is over. I saw the forecast slow down just before landfall. Not much in SE LA to degrade the storm south of Interstate 10.

Gulf temps are pushing 88F. That’s crazy HOT.

15 MPH forward movement is pretty fast. Hope she keeps that up .

Fingers crossed. That's the Atchafalaya Basin, lightly populated.
