For more than seven months, the U.S. Capitol Police officer who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed protester climbing through a broken window in a hallway of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, has remained anonymous.
Though his name was known to U.S. Capitol Police, congressional staffers and federal investigations, no one would divulge it. The secrecy fueled months of online speculation.
Babbitt's family alleged a coverup....
..."The U.S. Congress wants to protect this man. He's got friends in high places and they want to protect him," said Maryland attorney Terry Roberts, who represents the family....Roberts told Zenger Wednesday night that the shooter was "Lieutenant...

He still walks this earth. Ashli Babbitt is not so fortunate.Yes, he does. Unfortunately, so does that chump who killed Mrs Weaver at Ruby Ridge. He is probably enjoying a nice retirement now, the chump.

People tried to make a saint out of George Floyd, a failed American with a long rap sheet and full of drugs at the time of his arrest; an unarmed American Vet, a female was shot to death by a Capitol Policeman who says he feared for his life and Congress is trying to cover for him? Now that is truly b..sackwards....

From the article:
Byrd is a controversial figure with a record of mishandling
firearms, including once leaving a loaded pistol in a
Congressional Visitor Center bathroom. Roberts said Byrd's
decision to fire his weapon on January 6 indicated his
unfitness for duty.

Not to mention the chump is a graduate of West Point.
He should not be forgotten, ever. Lon T. Horiuchi 1976 graduate of the United States Military Academy.
Also involved in sniping at WACO. Where the FBI shot American citizens who were living their lives one day and incinerated and otherwise murdered the next day generally for the budgetary concerns of the ATF and the FBI.
A travesty of giant proportions, lost in time.

A travesty of giant proportions, lost in time.Yes, hard to believe that dude was a West Point graduate. I guess his father was also an Army officer too. Maybe he was woke, before anyone else knew what the word meant. π

Roberts said race was "clearly a factor" in the decision to shield Byrd from public scrutiny. Race had nothing to do with it. Under current law, Capitol Police are not required to identify police officers involved in shootings. Last April a car tried to run a checkpoint. One Capitol Police officer was killed before the suspect was shot by other officers. The dead officer was identified immediately but the police officers who did the shooting were not identified. In 1914 a woman named Miriam Carey tried to crash a White House checkpoint. She was shot 26 times. The Capitol Police officers were never identified. The officer who shot Babbit wasn't identified because they didn't have to, not because he's black.

We all know if it had been the other way, the officer would certainly have been charged.

The officer who shot Babbit wasn't identified because they didn't have to, not because he's black. I agree with you here, but this speaks to a different problem. Why does the capitol city allow for police to be shielded from their actions in this manner?
Smells a little third reichy in there.
