I think that's exactly it. We're going to end up paying them a whole lot of money that will e justified on the grounds that we promised that money to the government of Afghanistan anyway.

BTW, two days ago we cancelled our trip to Seattle on the 10th. Our whackjob liberal daughter in law says our “fear” is based on watching too much fake news. First, it’s not fear. It’s prudence by people who are not ignorant of history. Second, she’s scared to death of a simple virus and has her head constantly buried in NPR. Third, we haven’t had TV in 24 years and get our information from solid sources all over the world.
So, she’s projecting.

All is not as it seems in the regular news.
Supposedly there are thousands of Americans left there, not including our troops. The hard deadline of 31 August means they have to get the civilians out at least a few days before the 31st, and it will then take time to get our troops out.
The Regime has spent too much precious time dilly dallying.

I agree with the decision. The war has to end.
What Americans are left there? They seem like Bigfoot - lots of media talk about stranded Americans but they have been able to find almost none.
And the rest is a scam to bring in more Afghan refugees. We don’t need or want more Muslim refugees in the USA, with their cousin marriage and Sharia law. Period. All this talk about getting out Afghans who helped us is a joke: the translators were paid and they were working to defend their own country. Nobody ever promised them they could move to Kansas.
In between all the Biden-bashing (which I admit is enjoyable), can we act like conservatives and not allow the media to lead us around by the nose?
