Former President Donald Trump criticized the “woke” generals in the United States military on Saturday at a rally in Alabama, contrasting them to World War II Gen. George Patton.
Prior to his rally, the former president played a clip of a six-minute speech delivered by actor George C. Scott from the movie Patton.
“We’re getting tired of the woke generals that we have right?” he asked, pointing to the failure of President Joe Biden and the U.S. military to properly withdraw from Afghanistan.
The president also criticized Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, recalling when he walked with him to St. John’s Church through Lafayette Square to defy leftist protesters and then apologized to the establishment media for doing so.
“I said this guy doesn’t have what it takes, and you see that now because the worst decision I’ve ever seen,” he said.
Milley has also been criticized by the right for emphasizing the importance of understanding “white rage” and embracing critical race theory.
Trump said he was inspired to play the Patton clip right before his rally.
“I said, ‘Get that clip quickly. The people of Alabama understand that,'” he said.
“Do you think that General Patton was woke? I don’t think so,” Trump said and added, “He was the exact opposite.”

Trump’s biggest weakness is that he is often a terrible judge of character.
I like the clip, too. Unfortunately, that “speech” never happened. It was merely a collection of Patton’s statements that were made throughout his career that they could not otherwise fit into the dialogue of the movie.
It was used to set the stage of Patton’s Persona.
As we type China and Iran are reverse engineering our weapons. Why? because the Pentagon is filled with fools like this idiot and Washington is filled with liars who knew Biden had mental problems when they pushed him into the White House. Wars and Death are in our future ... we have democrats to blame.
And it cost him dearly.
I honestly thought early on that he was going to
fire as many,if not all,Osama appointees..including judges.
Don’t forget General MacArthur.
Well it cost 20 million Soviets dearly, Stalin was fine. And in the end, he was even more powerful by the end of the war. The Purge may actually have saved his neck, because odds are, had he not done it, he would have been overthrown when the Nazis invaded. But people even then were too scared to go against him.
They weren’t pearl handled, they were Ivory.
As Patton himself said, “Only a pimp would have
pearl handled pistols!”.
"The very thought of losing is hateful to Americans"
How far we have fallen.
The Big Steal was completely BIPARTISAN!
He couldn’t fire the judges, those are lifetime appointments.
He could have and should have fired everybody else.
Patton had a high-pitched voice unlike George C Scott’s portrayal.

AZ, GA, WI, MI, PA ALL have GOP legislatures.
Maricopa is 4 GOP, 1 Dem.
ALL of GA statewide offices are GOP, Gov, Lt Gov, AG, SOS.
It was not possible for the Democrats to steal the election without the assistance of the GOP.
Same with the Kenyanesian Usurpation which set it all up.
Yup..wishful think on the judges.
Including putting a end to quite a few departments.
The US military will never be on out side again, and hasn't been on out side at least since the end of the Cold War. Yes that includes during Trump's presidency.
The last thing we need at this point is effective US generals.
You're right. Both parties should have insisted all the evidence of fraud be put on the table - for the sake of everyone's confident in our system.
Big mistake when they didn't do that...
The way to make people comfortable with their institutions is make those institutioins and their processes transparent. Instead they chose to bully citizens into positions they feet were lies.

Love it, Dave! The woke general wearing purple hair.
