Perfidy in Kabul

Biden is the perfect leader for his valueless, inhuman party in an unprincipled, morally bankrupt country. Anyone with even a shred of humanity who takes a moment to understand the abject depravity of what we have just unleashed on millions of people in Afghanistan and who isn’t physically sickened and morally enraged doesn’t deserve to live in civil society.

The rapes, murders, torture, and stunning Rape-of-Nanking style horrors being unleashed—entirely unnecessarily—are stunning and shocking. Our complicity is unforgivable. Watching human beings so terrified of the evil we’ve just visited upon them desperately clinging to the outside of our transport planes and falling to certain death is a breathtaking testament to the Taliban monster and our morally debased country.

Biden’s self-serving dishonest reasoning—as if he is capable of any other—that his only choice was to “withdraw our forces or escalating the conflict and sending thousands more American troops back into combat“ is as deceitful as it is obtuse. We had just 2,500 soldiers in Afghanistan providing vital intelligence and air cover and they hadn’t suffered a casualty in over a year. Compare that to 25,000 troops in Korea for the last 70 years, 50,000 in Japan, and 35,000 in Germany.

More than what it did on the ground for the Afghan military, that small troop presence in Afghanistan was a significant and crucial display of American resolve. It was all that was needed to keep Afghanistan from returning to a pre 9-11 style terrorist haven, as well as keeping the worst forces of wretched inhumanity from descending on women and children.

It could be argued that we shouldn’t be in Korea, Japan and Germany anymore either. Otherwise, interesting article.

Watched tucker last evening videos of our servicemen trying to train these idiots to protect their country for 20 years was eye opening, they couldn’t even grasp the physical, jumping jacks which at first site was hilarious but sickening when you know we spent billions over 20 years. After training they couldn’t read their diploma, “its like training children” on pay day they get lost, 85 percent of the military would fail a drug test. Where did all this money go? certainly not in training. We know where the money went into pockets who continued this steal on the American tax payer. We need a god dammed overhaul

We have strategic interests in those places, ranging from keeping China back to being close to potential threat areas and better able to coordinate NATO moves. We had strategic interests in Afghanistan, too, ranging from keeping an eye on Iran and Pakistan to protecting our access to rare earths so essential to modern technology.

In addition to handing the Afghans who had trusted us over to a horrible fate, betraying our very own ideals and historical culture, we have undermined US interests in the region and made life much more dangerous for ourselves.

But the interests of the US are not important to the Dems, whose whole party is built on a hatred of America and (former) American values.

I agree, the article is excellent, and his analysis of that hatred, which is based on multicultural identity politics that rejects universal values, is absolutely on target.

Afghanistan wasn’t only a strategic failure, but a moral failure and a betrayal of what used to be our foundational principles.

I don’t disagree with anything you’ve written. I have lived and worked in all three of the countries and I believe there are strategic reasons to stay in each. The events of the past days are going to hurt us for years to come.

As an aside, I visited Spain a few weeks ago. I particularly liked Barcelona. A beautiful country and wonderful people.

Spain is truly a beautiful place and I enjoy the people a lot. When I go for any length of time, I rent a car and spend weeks going to all sorts of strange and remote places…my Spanish friends say I know about places in their country that they’ve never heard of.

Not to mention that the food is great!

Of course, we have a military presence in Spain, too, and some lucky Navy folk who get to spend their time at Rota (although I think that usually means they’re conveniently stationed for being sent to less pleasant parts of the world nearby).

The way we snuck out of Bagram like thieves in the middle of the night was a national disgrace.

I can’t believe it is stupidity. I fear it was a deliberate, planned betrayal of the Afghan and American people. Every act of the Biden-Harris-Pelosi regime is designed to destroy freedom and weaken the United States.

Yes, but we were "invited" to stay in those places. I don't believe we were ever "invited" to stay in Afganistan.

Pete Hegseth & company on "Fox & Friends" this morning were talking to an Afghan interpreter whom Pete knew personally (now safely in the US but has family in danger in Afghanistan and said he is willing to participate in any effort to get people out safely). Clearly a brave and upstanding person.

But Sean Parnell, Republican candidate for Senate, had an Afghan interpreter who appeared loyal to the effort but set up an ambush which caused several of Parnell's men to be wounded, with one killed.

Many Afghans who deserve to be rescued will be killed because of how Biden has handled this, while some of those admitted could be secret enemies.
