Top U.S. General Mark Milley stated Wednesday “There was nothing that I or anyone else saw that indicated a collapse of this [Afghan] army and this government in 11 days.”
Milley, who has been very concerned about a lack of wokeness in the military as of late, said in a prepared statement that intelligence assessments revealed the quickly approaching collapse of the Afghan U.S.-backed government was only a possibility, but those assessments ranged from weeks to months to even years following America’s absence.

No intelligence in the decision to surrender the military airfields before evacuating all key personnel. No intelligence in not drawing civilians, diplomats, volunteers, allies and on-the-ground local aides into a safe zone before pulling up sticks.

If he truly missed the signs, then he needs to step down. He failed in his duty and thousands of Americans may pay with their lives.
Then again, he may be lying, especially if he’s from the Madeline Albright School of Diplomacy. She wanted “to level the playing field” on the world stage. If he deliberately engineered this, then he’s got the blood of Americans and Afghans on his hands.
Either way, I hope he rots in Hell.
