The Taliban is now the best-equipped army, man to man of any other army in the world. Hell, we left enough so that each man will have an arsenal to include multiple rifles, machine guns, and perhaps even vehicles and the list goes on.

I read that the “weapons”, which includes 20 Blackhawks, were given to the Afghani military to use against the Taliban. The Afghanis gave the stuff to the Taliban. The only question is whether this was the agreement between the Afghanis and the Taliban all along.

I know people were saying Carter would now be happy that Biden is now president as he will not be the worst president ever, but that will go to Biden after his term is over. I don’t think anyone expected Biden to F*ck things up this quickly well under a year and closer to 6 months. To screw up this badly, this quickly is not incompetence, but a planned agenda. Has Obama’s signature stink all over it. This is a late 60th bday gift to Obama by Slow Joe.
And this just happened with all the world watching, so will we hold them accountable, or will it be Hillary during the Benghazi hearings with her infamous “what difference at this time does it make?” remark? This colossal f-up wasn’t by mistake, but with all this where are the calls for impeachment out for him to resign? If Trump was president he would already be indicted by the Dems.

So the United States Military is/was supposed to do the work the Afghan military should have been doing?
For 4 years President Trump was trying to get the US out of that country and was blocked the whole time by Congress.
Had we started blowing stuff up, the entire country would have erupted in violence toward every American asset in it.
We would have been sucked right back in.

Vehicles that need a tremendous amount of maintenance and fuel they don’t have. Military equipment is amazing, but finicky and very labor intensive to keep up.
As for the ammo and guns….Reports are surfacing that the Northern Alliance is getting ready to firm up again to take on the Taliban. If that happens many weapons they acquired from the ANA will soon be paper weights

The Afghan Army and police lost 66 thousand killed, fighting as our ally. Goodness knows how many were injured, kidnapped, etc. This in a modest size country, and with our strong support (esp. our uncontested air support.) Suddenly the support is yanked, right at the time of year when the Taliban is at its strongest. The Taliban is still backed by powerful elements in Pakistan (ISI in particular), various entities in the Gulf States, and China, whilst the Afghan Gov’t is, er, was, corrupt and weak.
We left a fortune in equipment behind, but Afghan troops were not getting paid (for months), and reportedly ammo was not getting delivered.
Can anyone here with a straight face say that once the US had fled, they as an Afghani soldier would have stuck it out to the death?
