~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas
McConnell Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located four miles southeast of the central business district of Wichita, a city in Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States. The airbase was named in honor of the brothers Fred and Thomas McConnell of Wichita, who had both been Air Force pilots and veterans of World War II. It is the home of Air Mobility Command's 22d Air Refueling Wing (22 ARW), Air Force Reserve Command's 931st Air Refueling Wing (931 ARW), and the Kansas Air National Guard's 184th Intelligence Wing (184 IW).

On 23 April 2014, the USAF announced that the Boeing KC-46 Pegasus will be based at McConnell Air Force Base. The base started receiving the first of 36 tankers in 2019. The Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker is currently stationed at this base. McConnell AFB was chosen because it had low construction costs and it is in a location with a high demand for air refueling.
The present operational environment of the wing continued formation from a decidedly joint approach with the focus clearly on “Team McConnell,” more so than each unit is individually. The Air Force doctrinal approach of “Mirror Force” remained evident in all of the wing’s operations.
The 22 ARW led the Air Force in refueling interchangeability with the Multi-Point Refueling System (MPRS). This allowed the wing to provide refueling services to US Navy and allied aircraft. The PACER CRAG program consisted of modernized KC-135 avionics with technology that allowed for routine air refueling missions to proceed.

August 17Trusting the Bible
When your words came, I ate them.
Jeremiah 15:16Billy Graham, the renowned American evangelist, once described his struggle to accept the Bible as completely true. One night as he walked alone in the moonlight at a retreat center in the San Bernardino Mountains, he dropped to his knees and placed his Bible on a tree stump, able only to “stutter” a prayer: “Oh, God! There are many things in this book I do not understand.”
By confessing his confusion, Graham said the Holy Spirit finally “freed me to say it. ‘Father, I am going to accept this as thy Word—by faith!’ ” When he stood up, he still had questions, but he said, “I knew a spiritual battle in my soul had been fought and won.”
The young prophet Jeremiah fought spiritual battles too. Yet he consistently sought answers in Scripture. “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight” (Jeremiah 15:16). He declared, “The word of the Lord . . . is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones” (20:8–9). Nineteenth-century evangelist Charles Spurgeon wrote, “[Jeremiah] lets us into a secret. His outer life, especially his faithful ministry, was due to his inward love of the word which he preached.”
We too can shape our life through the wisdom of Scripture despite our struggles. We can keep studying, as always, by faith.
Reflect & Pray
How has your life been shaped by Scripture? As you accept it by faith, how do you expect your life to change?
Heavenly Father, show me new things about You as I read the Bible. Teach me Your ways. Show me Your love.

Great road trip tonight, lauren.
I'm in a lousy mood...for obvious reasons.
Hope you and your family are doing well!

Howdy, PRO.
Did you have a good weekend? Has it cooled off enough to get outside to do things?
We finally cooled off a bit yesterday and have a decent, though damp, week ahead.

I attended the USAF (SAC) Nuclear Weapons School at McConnell AFB in the Spring of 1964.
Short but sweet and no study materials left the classroom.
No homework, either.
Those were the days.

Hey there, radu. Yes, but a bit better today. I guess the antibiotics are finally kicking in.
The thing that has me riled up is the situation we’ve found ourselves in over in Afghanistan. Words fail me at the imbecility of this administration.
Now...off my soap box. LOL! Did you have a good day?

Hiya radu!
Good weekend, A/C worked fine, LOL.
Today was the 1st day under 100 in a long while.
Tomorrow is suppose to only be mid-'70's with a continued cool-down so I can finally tackle the lawn again which will take forever because it's so long but it's good exercise anyway.
Any time at the museum over the weekend? Anymore pics?

Glad your tooth is feeling a little better. An abscessed tooth is NO fun.
I think everyone’s mood is foul right now. Words don’t fail me. I have plenty. They just aren’t suitable for mixed company.
Can’t say it was a great day because I was doing the same thing you were ... watching Steve’s stream. Other than that, it was ok I guess. Got a little more rain and that was good.
