I visited England for the first time in Sept. of 1976 , alone , and stayed 3 weeks . Was in London for about a week and then drove all over the country . Never had a problem or felt unsafe day or night and I did walk through some somewhat “ dodgy “ areas of London . Between 1976-1983 I visited 6 times ( with various friends and one time with my younger sister ) for a total of 13 weeks . It sure was a different country then . Couldn’t pay me to go there now .

I hear you. Even in London, I was safe walking back from the clubs on Oxford Road to the house in the West End. Now... well, they made their decisions. The price will be paid.

I just wish I could have gone back for one more trip.

Demographics is destiny. Enoch Powell predicted it: Rivers of Blood.

I was stationed there 1973-75. If was a wonderful place to serve. The big issue then was the IRA bombing London and Parliament. I traveled all over northern England and Scotland. Never had an problem.

Don’t be swayed by the sensational stories. My sister and I visited in May of 2019.

Unfortunately, they do have problems with mohammedans, which will need to be addressed very soon, but my sister and I had no problems.

I felt like I was walking in a dream when we were in London. Seeing so many of the historical sites that I had learned about since childhood and riding in boats on the Thames left me breathless.

The countryside was breathhtakingly beautiful.

What truly astounded me was how I fell in love with the people. Such a treasure.

Prayers up for the people who were killed by this animal. So sad.

I was in London, Brighton and Cornwall in 2019. My nieces have been hiking over Devonshire to Bristol.

It is very safe
