Philadelphia has mandated city employees either get vaccinated or wear two masks starting September 1. The city has also mandated businesses require masks or proof of vaccination for patrons and employees, which became effective Thursday at midnight.
“I’m upset,” Mayor Jim Kenney announced. “This amazes me that this is the most simple thing to do to keep yourself safe and your family safe and your community safe and people still refuse to do it. We know we need to take stronger steps to protect our residents.”

Yea! The deplorables have their mark identifying them as malcontents and second-class. 0% chance those people later get shuffled down or out for bogus performance claims or have the wokerati accuse them of any of a variety of deadly isms, now that they’ve been irrevocably designated.

I live a mile from the northernmost part of philadephia. There are a lot of strip malls and other stores over in Philly. If you shop there, you will risk being ticketed for burnt out light bulbs, failing to signal when changing lanes, going through yellow lights, failing to stop at crosswalks, etc, etc. They target suburbanites. You will also be charged an extra 2% sales tax for anything you buy. If you buy a sweetened drink, you’ll pay an extra 1.5cents/oz. And if you enter a business, you have to wear a mask. Most of the sales staff get to work on buses. Oh, and you might get murdered.
There are also shopping opportunities out in the suburbs.
Guess where suburbanites shop. Guess where Philadelphians shop.
Punishment. I have heard far too many executive and medical officers talk of “punishing those that are not vaccinated”.
Seems lawsuit for abuse are in order.
Put on enough masks, and they’ll all suffocate and nobody will have to worry about them anymore. They’ll be “safe” at last.
If you still live in Philly, you deserve the two mask öffentliches Recht, to keep the STUPID from spreading to the rest us.

I wouldn’t place too much blame at the feet of politicians; if they felt they could gain votes by holding public mask burnings they would do so in a heartbeat...I blame a triumvirate of ambitious elites, namely, public education, public media and most of all the public health sector, who’ve been busy gauging compliance thresholds and portraying independence of thought as a social illness to be shunned and in the end forced to bend to their orthodoxy...

I think you underestimate the actual depth of the conformity zeitgeist which will dominate the rest of this decade...

Neither the mask nor the vaccine work....so what’s the difference?
