Chicago police Superintendent David Brown late Wednesday issued an angry statement against a federal judge’s decision to release the man accused of making a straw purchase of the gun used to kill Chicago police Officer Ella French.
Jamel Danzy, who faces federal charges of conspiring to violate firearms laws, was granted a $4,500 appearance bond pending trial, meaning he will not need to pay bail to get out of custody. At a brief hearing conducted by telephone, U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Gilbert on Wednesday noted Danzy’s steady employment history and lack of criminal background.

Angela Davis supplied guns used to attack a courthouse and kill a judge, and she was also acquitted back in the 70s.
What is the correct amount of time that must transpire in order for the private sale of a gun to no longer be considered a “straw purchase”?
He’s trying to change the subject after the bagpipes debacle.
All the moaning and crying about how the gun regulations in place in Chicago not being able to control the “straw purchases” made elsewhere and passed to criminal elements in that city, when they DO capture such a “gun runner”, what do they do? They turn him loose.
Willful ignorance and stupidity on a level difficult for the mind to grasp. This is 100% self-induced grief and woe for the morally defunct city administration of Chicago.
Enforce the laws and regulations you have on the books already, Chicago. And the force for that begins with the mayor taking a stand on it.
But of course she won’t. Wobbly does not begin to cover it.
Prosecutors in Chicago have just about stopped making bail recommendations, even in murder cases. A lot of times the judge, absent any input from the prosecution, will allow ankle monitors for murder suspects. In the case of the suspect who shot the two police officers, killing one, the judge did set bail, but that was probably due to the publicity.
Having prosecutors stand silent in court when a judge asks for bail recommendations is just another of many reasons violence will continue regardless of how many press conferences Democratic officials hold denouncing guns.
Democrats.
There is a lot of outrage. The Police Superintendent only sees what makes him look bad to the other officers.
Leftists: don’t enforce the laws! They are racist!
Also leftists: we need more fun laws!
Oops, gun laws
It’s not a matter of “amount of time”, but rather knowing, or having reason to know, that the person you hand it over to couldn’t buy it himself because he is ineligible.

Let’s take a minute and first review what a “straw” sale is. A straw purchase is any purchase in which a second person agrees to acquire a firearm for someone who is ineligible to purchase the firearm for himself. A straw purchaser can be identified as a person with a clean background who purchases firearms specifically on behalf of a person prohibited from purchasing a firearm because that prohibited person is a convicted felon, domestic violence misdemeanant, juvenile, an individual who has been adjudicated mentally ill or one who is prohibited for other federally or state-defined reason from purchasing or possessing a firearm.
So one of the hood brothers is a butt pirate.
He should do well in prison.
No it's not.

EXCELLENT point.
This was a federal judge.
It could be a long time before he’s adjudicated. Feds work pretty slowly on this kind of thing, from what I’ve seen.
Federal Judge: “Chicago police Officer Ella French’s life is worthless to me (and the Federal Government)”.
