The White House is pressuring OPEC and its allies to boost oil production in a bid to tackle rising gasoline prices — despite imposing tighter restrictions on US oil companies last year.
Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan issued a statement on Wednesday urging OPEC — the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries — to move faster to restore global supply of gasoline to pre-pandemic levels.
“Higher gasoline costs, if left unchecked, risk harming the ongoing global recovery. The price of crude oil has been higher than it was at the end of 2019, before the onset of the pandemic,” Sullivan said.

When Jimmy Carter was in office we were supposed to wear sweaters and try to not think about our “malaise.” As coping with gas shortages, long lines and soaring prices on anything transported by gas or jet fuel——which is everything but canoe merchandise deliveries at resort islands.
Maybe we can have street demonstrations to demand the pipeline be finished and we allow fracking and oil drilling again-—like smart people instead of cognitively impaired doddering fools. No names there.

I bet Trump would take care of it. But what can we expect when the inmates run the asylum. In the four short years Trump was running the show he showed us what was possible. Now with the socialists in control they take pride in showing us how quickly they can run things back into the ground.
Canada’s got lots of oil. Maybe we should build a pipeline or something.
At one point the Trump administration was pushing Saudi Arabia and Russia to CUT oil production because the flood of oil on the global market was causing a collapse in West Texas crude prices and threatening to drive many U.S. energy companies into bankruptcy.
To be honest, this is one reason why I can’t blame foreign governments for despising the U.S. We run around lecturing everyone else about free markets and economic stability while we rig every game we play.
Wouldn't it be better for the environment if we pumped the oil within the bounds of our safety and environment protection protocols, rather than have another country pump the oil and ship it here?
