According to reports from Israel: recovered Covid patients are "far less likely to become infected" than vaccinated people.
That data comes from Israel's Health Ministry regarding the country's latest wave of the pandemic.
The data reportedly shows:
7,700 new cases of Covid during wave starting in May..
3,000+ (40%) were reported in people who had been vaccinated..
72 (<1%) were reported in people previously infected..
According to reports, 835,792 Israelis are known to have recovered from Covid. So 72 reinfections amount to 0.0086% of people who were already infected with COVID.
By contrast, Israelis who were vaccinated were 6.72 times more likely to get infected after the shot than after natural infection, with over 3,000 of the 5,193,499, or 0.0578%, of Israelis who were vaccinated getting infected in the latest wave.
The hospitals there have had more than a year to prepare for any surge.
Everything should be fine.
We’re now entering the part of the game strategy for the vaccines called the “sunk cost fallacy”. This is where a decision is made by a player which is both expensive and wrong. Classic example is buying a stock and then the stock goes down.
Human psychology kicks in at this point and the player, instead of trying a different strategy instead doubles down.
I know israel and New Zealand are using Nitric Oxide nasal spray to help with covid . Wonder if it’s working.

Can you explain why the difference is expected?
Is it because they are exposed to a different strain, like Delta, and recovery is a more comprehensive immunity than the spike-only vaccine?
Is it because the immunity provided by the vaccine “fades” (for lack of a better word) quicker than that provided by recovery?
Those are all I can come up with, but please explain if it is one of these or something else that you expected. Thanks.
The three major vaccines provide only one protein to use to confer immunity, the spike protein, and only one mechanism, antigen presentation.
An actual infection provides all viral proteins and allows all the body’s immunological mechanisms to be used.
Surprise, surprise... Pfizer doesn’t work against the Delta variant. That’s why South Africa is bringing back AstraZeneca.
Maybe, just maybe we can turn the narrative around and focus on immunity instead of being vaxxed.
If someone asks me if I’m vaxxed, which nobody has yet, I’m going to tell them that I am immune and see where it goes from there.

If 40% or 3000 are vaccinated, the unvaccinated isn’t 1%, 72, it’s 60% (4500) because partly vaccinated isn’t vaccinated

Is it possible that the Israelis haven't politicized this topic the way we have here in the US? (Is the country that pushed the vaccines on its citizenry really conceding that they don't work?)
I am guessing the vaccine FAILED to build a bullet proof glass shroud around the body to prevent virus from entering the body.
The missing piece is the number of unvaccinated and also not previously infected who were infected in the latest wave and what percent of the entire population they account for.
If you eliminate kids from the discussion (since they seem to be much less susceptible to symptoms and therefore discovery (and probably shouldn’t get vaccinated)) you should have a large percentage of the population being vaccinated but accounting for a minority of the new cases.
If say 90% of the population makes up 40% of the cases while 10% of the population makes up 60% of the cases then (so long as there is no downside to being part of the 90% group(which is an entirely different discussion)) you would be much better off being in that 90% group.
You might end up with something like the vaccinated are 6.72 times more likely to get infected than the recovered but the unvaccinated are 15 times more likely to get infected than the vaccinated.

Yes ..there is a thread from a poster who was dying and has now since died from Covid. Two Drs here tried to help him . the thread was asking for advise for Ivermectin. That Gas Dr pleaded with the poster to get help
Now the poster is dead
Oh..and one of the things the poor poster said was that his Dr sent him home and told them nothing he could give him .go read the thread. Over 240 posts
