The COVID-19 outbreak in the United States crossed 100,000 new confirmed daily infections Saturday, a milestone last exceeded during the winter surge and driven by the highly transmissible delta variant and low vaccination rates in the South.
It took the U.S. about nine months to cross 100,000 average daily cases in November before peaking at about 250,000 in early January. Cases bottomed out in June, averaging about 11,000 per day, but six weeks later the number is 107,143.
Hospitalizations and deaths are also increasing, though all are still below peaks seen early this year before vaccines became widely available. More than 44,000 Americans are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, according to the CDC, up 30% in a week and nearly four times the number in June. More than 120,000 were hospitalized in January.
The seven-day average for deaths rose from about 270 deaths per day two weeks ago to nearly 500 a day as of Friday, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The situation is particularly dire in the South, which has some of the lowest vaccination rates in the U.S. and has seen smaller hospitals overrun with patients.
In the Southeast, the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients jumped 50% to a daily average of 17,600 over the last week from 11,600 the previous week, the CDC says. Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky represent 41% of the nation’s new hospitalizations, the CDC says, twice their overall share of the population.
Alabama and Mississippi have the lowest vaccination rates in the country: less than 35% of residents are fully inoculated, according to the Mayo Clinic. Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas are all in the lowest 15 states.

True. But here’s where I have some serious issues.
Older woman in Buffalo gets covid a debes up in a coma. Standard, useless treatment at the hospital. Family has to sue to be allowed to give her ivermectin. They win but hospital still won’t give her the drug so they have to find a doctor that will. Hospital still resists. Back to court. Woman gets the drug and with in a few days, IIRC, is fine and leaves the hospital.
Where the f*ck is the Hypocratic Oath they all took? Where is their morality to try/use something they know works? India was getting its a$$ kicked. Started with ivermectin and voila, curve flattened. It seems like they’d rather let these people die, than treat them.
Great news! Post some new threads with that great news.
At this rate it will take 10 years to get natural immunity.
Doctors may be in control of big pharma, so cheap cures are to be discouraged.
All healthy and not-so-old people should expose themselves to any and all viruses and build herd immunity. Covid has been lethal mainly to people with existing serious health problems. Only those people should be “quarantined” and let the rest go on with life.
Why, you want torture and hanging instead?
Smart private businesses will make smart decisions and prosper.
And vice versa. I am against any government mandates for any health matters. Freedom to choose is the American way.
Wall St is in control of Big Pharma.
IMHO, the doctors and administrators in these hospitals, and I hate to use this analogy, are no different than the guards at a Nazi prison camp.
“I was following orders”.
They know these treatments work. There is too much information out there to say they don’t. To paraphrase the old adage……they do nothing
Be nice, I am trying to be nice.
Billions of cases and trillions of deaths with a fatality rate of 9000%
The recent “surge” isn’t all that impressive...https://usafacts.org/visualizations/coronavirus-covid-19-spread-map/

So if 100K was crossed on one day how does this equate to “averaging” 100K per day?? Oh right- it doesn’t.....
These are not necessarily infections just positive tests. I have little faith in the accuracy of these tests as thy are often being administered under makeshift conditions like parking lots and processed in the thousands. What assurance do we have these tests can identify the new variants or even differentiate between them and the original strain? It strains credulity to believe these supposed new strains that appear almost daily in the media can be readily and accurately identified by a test of dubious accuracy for the original strain.
I was wondering is those alleged cases were based on the 90% false positive rate PCR tests.
I trust NOTHING coming from the government or vaxcovidians.
Asspress in boolah boolah lunatic form as usual.
Onward to herd immunity!
Let's hope it's turned the corner.
Save us, president potatohead, save us!
“cases” aka “positive” PCR test results, are the most easily manipulated figures in the covid plandemic. who knows what the number really is - the higher the better really.
how many are asymptomatic?
how many have developed natural immunity?
But of course they are.
It is IMPOSSIBLE for them to have shipped tens of millions of test kits in 2 weeks.
Better, I just found this posted at CDC:
“After December 31, 2021, CDC will withdraw the request to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of the CDC 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel, the assay first introduced in February 2020 for detection of SARS-CoV-2 only. CDC is providing this advance notice for clinical laboratories to have adequate time to select and implement one of the many FDA-authorized alternatives.”
That means that ALL test result headlines are based upon the defective PCR tests unless qualified as being otherwise.
