China’s now-notorious “bat woman” — the head of the Wuhan lab accused of being a possible source for the pandemic — has warned that deadly new mutations of COVID-19 will continue to emerge.
Virologist Shi Zhengli gave the dire proclamation to state-run media this week as she joined calls for people to get vaccinated, according to the South Morning China Post (SCMP).
“As the number of infected cases has just become too big, this allowed the novel coronavirus more opportunities to mutate and select,” Shi told Health Times under the state-run People’s Daily, SCMP said.
“New variants will continue to emerge,” Shi warned

Gain of Function= Bio weapon. It’s not a bug...it’s actually a design feature. They knew it would mutate, and they knew it would be hard to vaccinate against, and they knew it would stay lethal with multiple mutations.

I believe that is entirely true. Among several genetic alterations, the virus has enhanced capability to mutate. This is in addition to its robust defenses against the body’s normal immunosuppressive capabilities. By all accounts, the main feature of the Delta variant is its highly enhanced transmissibility (or as we used to say communicability).
Think about this also: in battlefield tactics, an injured enemy soldier is more useful than a dead one. The injured soldier requires other soldiers and transport vehicles to expose themselves to enemy fire and expensive resources to treat. A bio-weapon can be designed for the same purpose: there is more strategic values in draining the economic and health resources of an opponent, than the cost of body bags and funerals (sorry to be so blunt). That isn’t to say that a high mortality rate isn’t also desirable to the bio-weapons engineer, but only up to a point.
Wherever the truth ultimately lies, this virus walks like a bio-weapon, acts like a bio-weapon....
