Russian health food chain VkusVill has triggered a storm of criticism on social media for posting an online advertisement showing a lesbian family, then removing it and apologising.
There was anger from those for and against the ad, which ran on VkusVill's website under the slogan "Recipes for family happiness".
The firm said the ad was intended for people aged 18 and above.
Russia bans any content deemed to be spreading gay "propaganda" to minors.
In addition to that 2013 law, Russia bans gay marriage and adoption by gay couples.
Instead of the photo showing the family group - mother Yuma, daughters Mila and Alina, and Alina's girlfriend Ksyusha - VkusVill now shows a traditional family under the same slogan. VkusVill translates into English as "Tasteville".

There really is no such thing as a lesbian family.
Not sure what such an arrangement should be called, but family is not the word for it.
Where Russia gets it right.
Interesting that other places in the world view these issues so differently.
In America such an ad would be celebrated by all these “LGBT” type people and liberals.
Just an indication, that other parts of the world don’t celebrate homosexuality, transsexuality, etc. as we have evolved to be compelled to so celebrate.
I know they arent our friends but I have a lot of respect for the Russians not putting up with the crap we are drowing in.

It is scary when an atheistic regime is more godly than the “Christian” nation of America.
The Russian Orthodox Church is the established church, and all "Russian religions" are allowed. That is defined as religious communities that existed in Russia befire the Bolshevik revolution. That includes Jews, Buddhists, and Muslims as well as various particular flavors of Christian including Baptists. But they don't like Jehovah's Witnesses.
One may doubt Putin is really a Christian, but at least that's his claim.

The West has morphed into the old Soviet Bloc - led by the USA: Promotion of a globalist, utopian, perverted, all-encompassing political ideology, based on highly centralized government and central-planning. The goal is to eliminate every “old” aspect of morality and human behavior and create a new society.
As all utopian ideologies, this must take on all the hallmarks of strategic power and real-politik we have seen before: promotion of propoganda and controlled media, fake interest groups and institutions to promote this revolution, encouragement of political factions to undermine opponents, color-revolution, military confrontation.
We should be friends, but the damn politicians on both sides are getting in the way.
I gag when these ads come on, but they do serve a purpose. They’re in-your-face signals telling what products NOT to purchase. Effective, IMO.

Because he's so demonized and cartoonishly characterized in the West, as an outsider, I have been trying to understand Putin and Russia. Watch his interviews - Putin speaks on Christianity, and especially its role in Russian society, more convincingly and more knowledgeably than any Western politician speaking about the same.
Given the chaos of Russia the last century, its clear to me he's given a lot of thought to it. One can't divine exactly his own personal faith, but without a doubt he certainly sees Russia as a historically Christian nation and sees the Orthodox Faith as essential to political/social stability.
