A Florida Army sergeant is one of the first known Christian troops to get a religious exemption allowing him to grow out his hair and beard, according to a report.

Sgt. Jacob DiPietro had applied for the religious exemption in November 2019 because he observes the Nazarite vow from the Old Testament that states, “No razor may be used on their head” and which insists believers “must let their hair grow long,” he told Task & Purpose.

DiPietro’s request “to wear a beard and uncut hair” was finally approved last week after Army officials confirmed that it was “based on a sincerely held religious belief,” the military publication said.

I guess they don’t need to issue him a gas mask and suit then?

The DoD has allowed a handful of Sikhs to get away with it, and now others are taking advantage. Get woke, get wiped out by the Communist Chinese.

Samson was a Nazirite...

Maybe there’s an advantageous warrior ethos to this.

High and tight, no beards...
There for a reason. Sleep in the jungle
of vietnam or in a hole in the sand in
the sandbox. Put this guy in a combat
situation and he’ll be burning his
hair off with a lighter. And he’ll be
praying his religion allows him to
draw another breath.

SO how about the other parts of the Nazarite vow? You know, the dietary restrictions, the association limits... Oh, and then there is the whole sacrifice of a lamb, a ewe and a ram. How will he avoid cemeteries and other deceased?

I think this guy is mocking Christians and Jews with this nonsense.

Growing out his hair makes sense. He’ll look better in the dress after the transformation surgery.

Military is going to hell.

The DoD opened the can of worms on "religious" exemptions. I expect a Pastafarian to claim the right to wear a colander on their head while in uniform.

It's also going to spread to other things such as buildings, offices, special considerations for Trannies, etc.

What’s good for one, is good for another.

Either disallow everything or allow it all.

My army is full of shiffff these days.

A believer is not under the OT Law as far as these things are concerned.

You’d think he would not like to be grabbed by the pigtail or beard and have his neck snapped in one swift motion by an enemy combatant.
